Rady Childrens or Sharp RN Residency

U.S.A. California

Did anyone else apply to these hospitals for their upcoming residency this summer? The wait is making me crazy I want a shot so bad at a job or at least an interview.

I received an application update for Rady's today it was for a position in the critical unit. I wasn't considered for an interview for that position but they are still reviewing my application for med/surg. Its not over yet!!

I wish you the best!! Let me know how it goes!

I wish you the best too. If things don't workout at Rady I'm praying hard that I will have a spot at Sharp.

I think there are a lot of internal applicants for Radys...I know the ONC has 2 spots open and 6 or 7 internal applicants:(

ACLS is great...maybe you guys can think about doing some kind of additional EKG class if you want to do tele too...

I've thought about this as well. I'm trying to volunteer with the Red Cross while waiting for a job as too. Would I just google EKG classes or where would I look for them?

Lets just say a girl who was neuro certified got a job in neuro over me:( I am getting chemo certified because that is really where I want to work...so get creative...maybe see if a nurse can help you out...also look at continuing ed classes that may pertain...you dont need the credits until the second time you renew...but you can at least mention you took the class!

I know the interviews for Sharp aren't suppose to start til the 19th of April but I was just wondering if anyone has called and checked on the status of your application.

I also applied to Rady and Sharp; looking for a NICU position at both. I got a reject letter from Rady, but like others have mentioned, I think they have a lot of internal applicants.

We'll see what Sharp has to say come April, I suppose

Yes I received a rejection letter from Rady for the Critical Care Unit but my application status hasn't changed for the Med/Surg unit. I'm hoping to see what happens with Sharp as well and they said you will only be contacted if you get an interview. Its probably a crazy question but I wanted to know if they aren't contacting people until April or up until April 19th when the interviews begin?

Its really up to the individual units when they decide to contact applicants, I didn't get contacted until a week before their own deadline of contacting people who were to be moved forward. And even that was just an email saying my application has been passed to the Nurse Manager, only 3 days later did I get a phone call saying they wanted to interview me. But I know other friends who got hired in other units who had a phone interview with a recruiter, then an interview with the manger, and then a panel interview, all before I even had my first one. Each unit is different. Maybe they changed it for this round, but who knows.

For all of those who applied for Sharp NICU...don't hold your breath! I applied to NICU, and heard Grossmont NICU is only hiring 1 new grad. They have a lot of internal applicants, and they get interviewed first. I have a feeling it might be a similar story in other units!
