Rady Children’s New Grad RN Residency 2018

Published

Hi all! This is a thread for those who applied to Rady's 2018 New Grad RN Residency (posting closed 11/22/17). Please share updates and status changes here so we're all in the loop! Thanks! I applied to Med-Behavioral.

Hey I'm internal, and when I first got hired, I had to have 5 references fill out their online survey. I can't remember if it was before or after the job offer.

For people who got interviews, did you all automatically get asked for references via email after your interview?

I interviewed last week for the medical behavioral unit and was told that if I "passed" I'd be contacted for interview #2 within 1-2 weeks. References will come after that interview if I'm chosen to move forward. It is not a short process to be sure!

Oh interesting! I interviewed with the surgical floor today and I thought it went really well.. and I got an email for my references so I wasn't sure if that was just an automatic thing or not

I think it is all unit specific. Did they tell you you needed a second interview?

Perhaps the units have different ways. Idk. For surgical, is there a 2nd "peer/ staff " interview?

No idea! I do know that they all have their own system so it could go either way!

I only had one interview with the NICU and was offered a position! But the interview was with floor nurses and management together, so maybe that foregoes the need for a second "peer" interview? It seems like every department does it their own way. Best of luck!!

Congratulations dabear68! That's so exciting. Yeah that makes sense that in some unit they are separate and others are together. :)

I had one interview for surgical with the nurse manager and CNS and then got asked for references, but then just got a call for a 2nd interview with the staff. Definitely seems like they all have their own system! Anyone else interviewing with surgical?

Hey everyone! I interviewed for CVICU last Friday. I still haven't heard an update!! Did anyone else interview for CVICU and receive an email after they interviewed for references?? Thanks for the updates.

I got a call for a second interview with med behavioral for next week. So each unit definitely has its own system:-)

I had my interview today in the PICU and I was told that they would send out a request for references by the end of today and they would let me know by next friday. however, if i don't get an email about references, does that mean I didn't get the job? it's already getting pretty late too and I'm a little worried :/
