On a side note, Ramstein AB is a beautiful base! And the surrounding area is also great. German cofffee is better than Starbucks. Ramstein Village has several coffee shops that sell German coffee. They are located in the center of town, down alleys/streets, that are so European! Enjoy your time there, I am jealous!

Hi

I saw your question and found a few links that might help you out some.

Landstuhl is only 5-6 KM from Ramstein AFB, home of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, employing over 200 nurses.

The Kaiserslautern Community Newspaper http://www.kaiserslauternamerican.com/

The Army Civilian Employment Office, when you get there click on Medical jobs http://acpol.army.mil/

The Medical Job Link http://cpolwapp.belvoir.army.mil/medical/

LRMC Website http://www.landstuhl.healthcare.hqusareur.army.mil/

Hope this helps

The Army civilian website I believe is your best bet - getting a job at landstuhl.

I left there in 2000 before 9/11 and a lot has changed.

Getting a job there is very tough. Financially plan on NOT working and consider yourself blessed if you get a nursing job. If there is no job available, volunteer. Go to the red cross office to volunteer. It will increase your chances.

Also search this site there is several posts that may help you.

Good Luck,

Pam

P.S. Germany is a fantastic experience! I would go back in a heartbeat!

This is an ancient post--1998 and the OP has never been back. Their tour in Germany is over.
