Hey,
I found a school that offers this course in the summer. Do you think microbiology for health professionals would meet the mirco prerequisite requirement???
thanks!

I think it would BUT I would get a more definitive answer than what someone "thinks" otherwise you will be out a lot of time and money.
Get the course number and contact your school of nursing and talk with someone to make sure it will transfer.
Thanks Noryn!!

Does the class have a lab component? Does your school require a lab component to the class?
Of course check with the school - just wanted to add something else to consider.

You need to check it out before you enroll. Some of the RN programs will accepts mico for health majors, but many (like mine) required the 4 hr Micro with Lab for science majors. It is actually a big difference and you need to make sure before you enroll!

This is actually a prerequisite class in SUNY Orange for their two year RN program. By the way, it is a GREAT class!

Yes, definitely check with your school to know for sure. At my school we could take regular Micro or Health Micro. Most of the nursing students including me took Health Micro.

I'm actually taking medical microbiology this summer. At my school, you take either regular or medical microbiology for the nursing prereqs. I'm not entirely sure of the difference between the two. The problem is that a lot of BSN programs in the area require regular microbiology and not medical microbiology.
