For those of you that use a pyxis and have to put in your un/pw everytime someone else needs to waste something how rigerous are you on actually watching the wastage?
We had a situation come up where I used to work of one nurse stealing narcs, mostly dilaudid but she would also take anything else she could get her hands on, she would get witnesses she knew wouldn't watch her waste thank god I'm a watcher because now the nurses that are on record as wasting with her often are now under suspicion. It was one of those situtations where you NEVER would have suspected this nurse.

Unless something has changed what you are smelling is the Formalin used as a preservitive, it stinks like Formaldihyde. It was thought I was allergic to MS for a long time, it turned out it was the preservitive, I suspect I got sensitized to it in school; we used diluted Formalin in spray bottles on our cats in A&P.
