"I Agree" button?

Maybe someone could start a poll for this. There's the "thanks" button, but often I just want to agree. Wouldn't it be nice if we had such an option? What do you all think? And maybe even an "I disagree" button?!

I think that's a GREAT idea! And at times, I want to just offer my support to someone kind of like a hug, but instead I will hit the "thanks" button for that.

Hopefully someone will take your suggestion into consideration :)

"Thanks" is really an all-purpose button, don't you think? It can mean "I agree", "Yep, you got THAT one right!", "I'm so glad you posted that", "Awesome post!", or "You ROCK" as well as "thanks".

JMHO.

Thanks.

something like a thumbs up or thumbs down button would be cool!

We already have those---they're in the smileys :down:

I like the idea of an "I agree" button. I know most of us use the "thanks" button for that, but it would be a good addition, in my opinion.

I tried to get a LOL button one time but everyone just laughed at me...

They could like this site to Digg and have people rate comments that way....:chuckle:chuckle

I don't think it's a good idea to have a disagree button. I was on a forum once that you could give negative points to people or positive points. It led to a lot of discord and hurt feelings. I think it would ad fuel to rivalries and grudges that people sometimes get on these discussion sites.

The thanks button, on the other hand, is purely positive. I think that's better.

Any site moderators/admins/allnurses members who want to see this in action - see if you can access the forums at Ravelry.com. It's a knitting community website, and you can click different buttons on posts - you can "agree", "disagree", "love", "funny", "educational" and "interesting."

If you accidentally click something that you don't want to, just click it again and it change it back.

It's a really neat method of feedback, and I'd love to see it utilized on this website.

I'm not sure if you have to be a member of ravelry to check out the forums... it might be the case. Usually it takes about a week to become a member, because they are slowly sending out invitations little by little as people sign up, so as to not overload their server. It's completely free and requires very little personal info - it's just that it's a new website that really exploded into popularity, and the two people who run it are trying to keep up with everyone who wants to join.

On a side note, anyone who loves to knit, should TOTALLY join ravelry.com. Best knitting community website, ever. :wink2:
