"adevia" agency

Hello,

I know of Adevia although I have not had any dealings with them personally. But please consider this - you should not have to pay this kind of money to study for NCLEX. There are many good study materials which cost a lot less and anyway, if you sign with an agency and they want you to do a specific course to prepare, then they should pay for it.

If your agency wants you to take the class and wants you to pay for it......run now as fast as you can. It is their responsibility to help you, not charge you for that. They are making money on you...period. All along the way.

Sorry, but I would look for something else if you have not signed.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. I went through Adevia and did the NCLEX course. This course is not an Adevia Course, but a Kaplan course. Adevia helped me get through it, but the course was all from Kaplan. My rep at Adevia said that Kaplan was the best and that is why they recommend them. Well, I'd have to agree, as I passed the first time and I am now a nurse in Texas! If you want my opinion, I say go with Adevia as they are the only agency that I have not heard terrible stuff about. I think the point we tried to make was £350 is a lot of money to pay out to study for NCLEX. I respect what you're saying and it's good to hear when things work out well using an agency. Myself, I just bought a couple of NCLEX study books, Kaplan being one of them, the other was Saunders, cost me about $80 (approx £45) and I passed first time.

Just trying to save the OP some money is all, but glad things worked out for you :)

I paid adevia for the NCLEX course and passed first time. I thought it was great and had great support for them all the way though.

There was no commitment either way unitl I had passed NCLEX as you pay all fees.

I was than offered a contract in Florida but if for any reason I had to pull out within first 2 years I would have to pay back $16,000.

(They did not like it when I said no thank you)

I have since with letinas help got a contract with Florida Hospital.

Passed NCLEX Oct 05, I-140 filed and visa screen should be any day.

So best to find a hospital if you can it seems to be much quicker than with an agency.

I do not have any experience with any agency, but I would highly recommed Kaplan, since I know it WORKS!!

If you are skeptical about the agency, you may just go to kaplan.com, pay the money and take their online streaming video classes. Its worthful.

Iknow about 9 people that took Kaplan online course, all except 1 passed in the first attempt.

If you pass NCLEX-Exam on your own, you increase your bargaining power with ANY agency. Then the folks at your (any) agency will understand that you know how to play the game and they would come down from their $20K penatly on contract breaking...

Also, since CGFNS is no more required in most (any ??) states in USA, if you had not invested any money for CGFNS (Exam fee/Paper work/StudyGuide), divert that money to study NCLEX. If you can afford that much, I would say go for it. consider that as an investment for your future.

I'm going to work in the USA as a RN. First of all I have to prepare for NCLEX and IELTS-exam.
My agency gives me the possibility, to get an online-course for preparing in NCLEX. Because it costs 350 british pounds, I want to make shure, that adevia is a faithful agency. It's quite a lot of money.
So my question: Did anyone here about "adevia" or has someone experience with this organisation?

i did the ncsbn learningext study for nclex took it 2 weeks before the exam, fortunately i passed. i also run through the nclex review book kaplan, not much help to me. i think in choosing a review material for nclex you take consideration of your finances and how much critical thinking, prioritizing, and analyzing you can develop in the review. well personal dedication and focusing takes 40% in passing the exam. good luck to those who are about to take it!!!
