75 questions.. Worried

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone. I took my nclex exam yesterday at 8am and the computer shut off at 75 questions. I was feeling confident when I walked out. I got 12-15 SATA, lots of priority and med questions.. My questions definitely were higher level questions. A class mate took the test at the same time and her license number was posted on the BON website this morning but mine is not. This has me so incredibly worried that I failed. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do I just need to wait for my quick results and stop worrying? I don't feel that I could have done bad enough to fail in 75 questions.

Opinions AND PRAYERS would be appreciated!

LOL. GrnTea you never ceases to amaze me. But thank you. So many thing we worry about that we have no control off. Cheer up AB1212 and hope for the best. Smile! Smile! Smile!

MY grandmother used to sing that to me, it having been popular when she was a girl before WWI. Now I can pass it on even more. Great tune, huh?

I never heard the verses, just the chorus, before I found this on YouTube. They emphasize your point even better, though. You think you've got problems, try facing down a host of armed enemy. Smile!

PS, for those who aren't versed in early 20-century slang, a "***" is a cigarette, and a "lucifer" is one of those newfangled matches with sulfur in the tips, thus the satanic smell when struck.

What are "higher level" questions?

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.
UPDATE! I got my quick results today.. I passed!

Congrats! See? No worries :) I don't know about your state, but our BON has no consistency posting license numbers. Some classmates got theirs 24-48 hours after NCLEX. Some 4 days. The average seems to be one week. It took 8 days for mine to post. Some are still waiting.

So glad you got your results. Happy dance :D

What are "higher level" questions?

Another way of saying "above the passing standard level of questioning". One has to get these kinds of questions correct in order to pass the NCLEX; problem is NO ONE knows what is or is not a "higher level" question. One that is "easy" to one person (and they think No Way is this a passing level question) might just be "difficult" to another (who is sure it must be above passing).

Huge myth out there that SATA formats mean passing level (they do not). Also myth that any question regarding prioritization and delegation means you are at the passing level.....it does not.

Welcome to NCLEX Land, circa 2015 :)
