Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

I have ICU interviews at Brack, SMCA, and Hays. My online application for all 3 still says "under review".

My ICU interview for Brack is tomorrow! Making the drive down to Austin tonight.

Specializes in Geriatrics, Med/Surg, hospice.

My SNW one says 'interview' but my one for SMCA still just says 'applied' so I really dont' know how much to go off of those.

Also, I have clinicals on the 8th and 9th floors at Brack and I found out today that there were over 250 applicants for JUST the 8th and 9th floors. The 9th floor manager is covering for both floors and will be making calls the week of April 14th at the latest.

Does anyone have the contact info for the Oncology manager?

Specializes in Geriatrics, Med/Surg, hospice.

runnerchick, i sent you a PM

Is that pedi oncology or adult?? I'm interested in pedi oncology manager info.. :)

Has anyone already had their interview yet?? How did it go? Good parts? Bad parts? What should you bring? I have one monday so i just want to know what the structure of the interview is like. Is it a panel? Just the manager? Any tips? Ill also share info once I get outta my interview for those that haven't had theirs yet :)

@kaylag, it was for adult oncology, sorry!

@lakiesha, my friend had his IMC interview yesterday and said it went very well. his was a panel interview. i have an interview on monday that will be panel as well but from what i understand my interview on friday will only be with one manager. good luck!

i recommend googling nursing interview questions and/or watching youtube videos (like this one:

) good luck!

Thanks!!!! @texaslvn12 good luck to you too!!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm an out-of-state applicant new to the thread! Good luck to everyone who has upcoming interviews!!

@texaslvn12 - could you send me a PM with the contact info for the Oncology nurse manager as well? Also since I'm not familiar with the hospital floors at Brack, do you mind telling me what the 8th and 9th floors are which had all those apps? Thanks!!

8th floor is a trauma floor, they get all the MVC's, gun shot victims, etc from ICU/ER after surgery and stabilization. 9th is a neuro/oncology/spine mainly but also takes general med/surg, I've had a wonderful experience there for my clinical rotation. Brack is truly one of a kind!

I got a call today to interview for IMC SMCA! Does anyone know how many people they'll be hiring?
