I just took the NCLEX and it shut of @ 75 questions. I am convinced I failed! I read in my Kaplan book that if the computer shuts off @ 75 ques, then you were answering questions above the minimum competency level - so you passed, or below the competency level - do you failed. I guess I am just so confused, it didn't seem that hard, I seemed to know a lot of the answers or am I just deluding myself. I am worried sick, literally. I would really appreciate some insight.....
mine shut off at 75...and i passed the first time.........i also kept checking my bon's web site ....when you pass they have it on the computer within 24 hours....so ....to be sneaky.......get on your bon web site ....type in your ss# to verify your liscence......and if it verifies your liscence then you passed......otherwise you wouldnt be liscenced .....the web sites update daily and you can generally find out 3 days faster bydoing this......just a little trick i learned

I am not sure how many of you are actually aware of how NCLEX calculates your exam..............................all nurses that take the exam get 50% right and 50% wrong. This is per NCLEX board if you don't believe me. What that means that after your first question in each area the questions prgressively get harder, too hard, and then it may get a little easier. They are not concerned with number correct, that is why each of you may have competed a different number of questions, but they want to know that you meet the standard of what they expect a nurse to know and be accountable for. For the most part, if you were able to complete the exam with just 75 questions you should consider that you passed, unless you had so many wrong answers that it just gave up.......................................................................
Good luck to ALL of you with your boards.
I've tried to explain how this test works to many people that have asked me, and they don't "get it", it is truly the strangest test format I've ever run into....and the most difficult, its a one of a kind that's for sure!!
