75 questions.....please help!!!!!!

I just took the NCLEX and it shut of @ 75 questions. I am convinced I failed! I read in my Kaplan book that if the computer shuts off @ 75 ques, then you were answering questions above the minimum competency level - so you passed, or below the competency level - do you failed. I guess I am just so confused, it didn't seem that hard, I seemed to know a lot of the answers or am I just deluding myself. I am worried sick, literally. I would really appreciate some insight.....

Good Luck I bet you passed with flying colors.

Don't worry (easier said than done I know...) when I took boards mine shut off at 75-same with many of my friends, we all passed!! Have faith in yourself!:

Same here. Mine shut off at 75 and I also passed the first time. I have always heard that is a good sign.

Same with me, only 75 questions and was done in 1 hour...and passed the first time......In nursing school they told us that (and the numbers maybe a little off here), something like 80% of people that only answer 75 passed, cuz you probably answered ALL of them right!!.....I think you passed it!!....Oh yeah!!...when the computer shut off at 75, I freaked out!!...I wasn't told that the screen would just go black like that, so I thought I broke it!!!

AAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! :)

Everyone should pretty much know that if it quits at 75 you passed. I don't know about your state but here in OK we are able to go online and check to see if we had a license on the BON site. It took about two days.

Yep, mine stopped at 76 and I passed.

Take a deep breath and relax. (Easier said than done though, I know).

Me too, 75 questions in 53mins.

I passed. Also had those mixed feelings. I'm sure you passed too. Breathe;)

Relax! You are going to give yourself an ulcer if you read into this too much!I took my test at a sylvan learning center in a place 5 hours from home on the other coast.I was really freaking out about being in a strange place to start with. The lady told us the computer would shut off automatically at such and such a time to give us a mandatory 10 min break.Mine shut off at 70 something and I was convinced it was that break. Then I was really freaking out because I thought I was almost out of time for the test. The computer never came back on.I waited and waited. No one told me it might shut off at 70 something and that was it.The lady (after a long time) asked me if I was ok.Then she informed me it was done.I thought it had been almost 5 hours. It was 1 hour.I passed. So I can understand your anxiety level.

What everyone said. Relax. The number of questions is irrelavent. People pass and fail with numbers from 75 to 300. Don't get fixated on the number. Good luck!!!!

This is actually so reassuring for me, looking forward to the NCLEX.... We hear so many horror stories, in school and out, that the NCLEX looms ahead like an ogre that will at the very least take a good nip out of one's behind!

Thank you all for sharing--I feel soothed. (and I don't feel soothed all that often)
