HI THERE,
I am an Aussie trained ICU registered nurse whom is sitting the CRNE feb 2009. Apart from Geneva Health and Health Staff Professionals, does any one know any other nursing agencies that would assist in finding employment in Vancouver, BC.
Also, do most hospitals accept applications from nurses practising as 'Supervised Temporary Registered Nurses' to work whilst they wait to sit their exam and whilst they wait for their exam results? Or are most internationally educated nurses pretty much jobless until after the CRNE? Thank you all. :loveya::loveya:
hi!everyone,
i have submitted my application to crnbc and i am waiting for their assessment. i am presently not working since 2006 since i gave birth to my only child, but i had previous 8 years experience. i applied for an employer in vancouver but he said they requires all applicants to be currently practicing nursing in order to consider for a position in vancouver.
can somebody answer me please. do you think all employers in bc only accepts nurses that are currently practicing?
any employer/hospital that you can suggest that i should send my application to.thank you so much.
You could try www.healthmatchbc.org - it's a provincial organization that recruits for healthcare professionals. On that site are links to all of the different health authorities throughout British Columbia. You would probably need to have been approved by CRNBC or CPRNBC and have an interim permit before getting sponsorship. I'm currently on leave from Fraser Health and in North Carolina - returning next week. I've worked with lots of nurses from the Phillipines and to the best of my knowledge they needed to have their interim permit first. Hope that helps!

wow there is that many nurses looking for jobs in Vancouver!!
That gets me nervous for when I apply for a job in January/February. I might not be able to get into my specialtty and have to take a job in the left over positions.
