Hi. My name is Mandi. I'm new and I've been reading alot about DCN and was wondering what everyone thinks about it. I was also wondering if you already have to be an LPN in order to get your ASN. Is it hard to get accepted into the college. Anyone who has any information I would really appreciate.. Thanks!
They started a fall session as well that starts in August. I'm not sure if that interests you or not, so give them a call if it does.Good luck.
I called Deconess, and after several calls and emails they finally returned my messages;they informed me that there isn't a August start that the next start would be in Jan 2006. That seems so far away. It still bothers me that they have my paperwork, etc and I have had to contact them and they haven't bother to call or contact me to see if I am still interested or let me know of any changes etc. I just wonder want is going on with this school since the buyout. Has things changes there? Those of you that are still going to school there are you still happy with this online program.

Deaconess has become very popular and they have many, many more applicants than spaces available. Don't expect them to contact you to see if you're still interested! Nothing has changed since the buyout - except maybe good things. And there are classes starting Fall semester. They're full.
I'm extremely happy with the program - I just graduated this past weekend :)

You must be so excited. Did you attend the grad ceremony?
Thanks Mona and Cheri!!There's no graduation ceremony for summer. We have to do it in Dec. Haven't decided if I'll go up for it.
NICURNtobe,
Just for the sake of keeping inline with the subject of this thread...could you tell us what state you will be sitting boards for? There has been alot of talk on this subject.
Cheri :)

I'm with Cheri on this. You are a real DCN success story!
Both you, Cheri and Mona show that it is possible for those willing to put in extra effort and work hard.

All DCN students will have an opportunity to sit boards in Missouri if they so choose which would make them eligible for either reciprocy or endosement license given that their SBON offers this type of license to Missouri nurses.
Those that are too shy to find out the facts for themselves regarding this program feel free to apply elsewhere making more room for those determined to take advantage of DCN's program for the furtherance of their education.
Cheri :)
