Question about your work.

Published

Hi all - I'm conducting a quick, informal survey about hospitals and nursing units. Specifically, I'm really interested to learn how other hospitals on the West Coast track and monitor their patient assignments. Please send the link on to any friends you think might be able to help out! Thank you so much!

1) What is the name of your hospital? (Include city and state)

2) What is the unit that you work in?

You might get more responses if you get rid of those two questions. Those aren't the types of questions people on anonymous internet forums typically like to answer.

Specializes in ICU.

1) Does your hospital still use paper-charting/paper-orders/or any paper work, excluding patient charts.

(If so, what is name of patient software you use?)

The only paper based things we still use are consent forms that have to be signed pretty much. Otherwise we use Cerner Powerchart.

2) When receiving your patient assignment for the shift, is it posted on a paper or electronically? (If so, what is the name of the software you use?)

Paper. We have a large screen tv with a microsoft word spreadsheet that they type the assignments on eventually so that doctors on the unit know which nurse to look for, etc. But it's always on paper in huddle.

3) When making your schedules or getting your schedule back - is it on paper or electronically? (If so, what is the name of the software you use?)

Paper, but we're in the process of switching over to electronic. Right now on paper we write our requests out, they make the schedule and post it on paper. Switching over to clairvia scheduling electronically.

4) Which state are you located in?

florida

Specializes in orthopedic/trauma, Informatics, diabetes.
