Question about Vicki Melazzo 40 hr at home course

Hi, lovemy3kids and welcome to allnurses.com and the Legal Nursing program

There are a couple here whe have or are doing the Home Study. Maybe they will come along and post.

As for the exam, it is all multiple choice.

Exam Format
The 2-hour CLNC® Certification Exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.

I did the at home VMI course before going to the cvonference - It was *very* worthwhile!

1) yes, if you diligently do the at home course you will be well prepared for the exam

2) it is multiple choice - the stats I got from VMI is that about 90% pass it on the first time - the prep is that good

3) you can take it as often as you need, and can pay the "sitting" fee

Your hard work will be rewarded! Go for it! :)

I didnt do any studying before I took the course and I passed with a high percentage, so dont worry you dont need to do it.

I would not go that far --- unless you already have significant experience in LNC practices.....

too, I'd have to say that I never studied any body of knowledge to pass a test, but to gain more knowledge in that chosen endeavor and to strive to be a worthy representative and practitioner of that endeavor, and perhaps lay the foundation for being the best

I attended the 6 day seminar and believe me you do not need to study prior to going, as the course is very comprehensive and very well taught. I would not have had the discipline to study at home:rolleyes:

I obviously misunderstood the OP - I understood her to be saying she had taken the Basic and was not going to the seminar - I totally agree that one will have little to no trouble passing the certification after attentively sitting the seminar - they do a very good job - however I was very glad I did do the at home course first as I found having already been over the material freed me from making frantic notes (just my style, I hate to miss anything) and I was able to fill in around the notes I'd already made in the Core and add the nuances that are only picked up in a live presentation :)

I am in the 2nd module of the core course and I took the VIP course for several reasons (the home study, the seminar and the unlimited mentoring).

This is very comprehensive and I truly believe that just doing the 6 day seminar would be sufficient but I feel as one of the other posts-I dont want to be scrambling with notes at the seminar and for me personally, reading etc first and then going to the seminar is best for me. This is money very well spent. Yes you can take the exam as many times as you need to pass and will have to pay a sitting fee like previously stated, each time after your initial inability to pass.

I came upon this course after trying to figure where my next career move was going to take me. I lost my drivers license due to visual deterioration and the docs are setting me up with some other visual aids that would let me pass my drivers vision test again. I couldnt do clinical nursing safely, as a corrections nurse, and this was right up my alley! You will simply love it!

I must admit I am a little nervous. I signed up for the VIP with live course and the live inperson 2 day apprenticship that follows immediately.

I just sent in my promisory note (should arrive there monday) and will, recieive the material shortly after.

I do not know if this is for me. I understand the marketing is the toughest part of this and it scares me a little.

I asked and they said it takes about 6 months to get your first client. They also said it depends on how much you are working at another job as to how much time you can devote to marketing. If you are working full time at another job it could take up to a full year to get your first client.

I am told even though they do not keep records on this. The vast majority who graduate do go on to actually doing this and make a good income from it.

I leave the end of October for the LasVegas course.

Any insights, advice, or anything else you can offer will be appreciated.

Also, any personal experience you had after the comfrence and especially in getting started I would truly appreciate.

Oh, one more thing. Do I need to bring any of the materials with me? and will I be comming back with a lot of materials? Need to know if I should allow this space in my suitcase.
