Hello! I am a registered nurse from the Phils. I am a new member here. And checked some posts from the philippines looking for topics that would answer my problem.
Anyway, I am a Registered Nurse from the Phils and plan to apply in Illinois.
they reqiure >CES >TOEFL >NCLEX-RN
My question is: If I submit an application, do I need to pass TOEFL exam first before they will allow me to be eligible for NCLEX-RN?
Or can I take NCLEX-RN exam first, and then take the TOEFL exam later??
Hope you get my point. Really need your help guys.
If you have threads pertaining to this topic wouldlove to read about it.
Thanks! God bless!

i have a question... i applied at il for licensure and my schedule for nclex rn exam is getting near.. i know i can get the quick result after 2 days.. if in case i pass the exam, can i endorse to nc immediately??? is there a requirement of experience from the original state of licensure when you are applying for endorsement to nc??? how bout ssn?? many thanks... god bless...
yuo can only get quick results if illinois participates in that with pearson-vue. not all states do.
and no you cannot endorse immediately, you will not have a license to endorse until you have a ssn#. most states do not require experience to endorse, illinois actually did, to get the cgfns exam waived, of two years. but that went away when they stipped requiring the cgfns exam.
you need a ssn# for illinois to issue you a license, as well as for nc to issue you one.

the ces report and the toefl applies to all internationally educated nurses including those applying byendorsement, u.s. citizens and visa holders.
first of all, you dont shout in this forum. cool...
because there seemed to be conflicting statements coming from this:
http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/cgfns_02.pdf
and from this:
http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/rn-ex.pdf
regarding toefl requirement, i decided to email idfpr for clarification.
and this was their reply:
if your credentials evaluation report indicates the program was conducted in english, we will accept that.
****
my advice to applicants-try to email idfpr yourself. they are the only ones who can give a definite answer.
i rest my case :)

why do you guys want to complicate things? i was recently granted eligibility by illinois bon. and i took toefl. it's easier if you just follow the rules instead of being the exception to the rule. but if you want to make things harder, then don't take toefl and interpret the rules to fit your needs.
good luck to everyone! :)
hello again kathkaye, my situation is that I passed the test but I currently don't have license...
I already asked the CGFNS(CES) they told me that I just need to declare that I don't have license and my state BON does not require local license and from there my CES report will be issued and forward it to the CTS.
for the application of licensure for Illinois

I am just a new graduate hw will I fill this out?
......and for the part 4 of the application this is all about RECORD OF LICENSURE INFROMATION since i dont have license, i dont need to fill this out right?
......for the part 5 this is all about RECORD OF EXAMINATION

for me, you should wait for the issues to be resolved so you'll know what to do next... you should write all the necessary informations about you (applicant).. coz if you don't, it's fraud.
yap kathkaye maybe I should take your advise to wait for the issue to be resolved
most probably if the issue gets to be resolved and PRC would be ready to let us register I will go on with my registration..............
as soon as I register the same day can I do the verification of registration for the CES right away???all I need to do is to bring with me the verification form on the day of registration and right after I signed the logbuk as an RN and paid all the required amounts my next task is to go to the designated window for the request of verification of license,,,,,:wink2:
whew!!i hope the issue will be resolved soon...by the way kathkaye thank you for always helping me
right now i am preparing for the toefl.ibt exam...i hope to pass it

yes. on the stateboard verification window. give the validation of license form (CES) and the CT-NUR form (IL license verification form) to PRC when you already have your license number with you.

Others here said that their CES took 2 to 3 months to finish after all documents were received by cgfns.
In IL, once all requirements are met (CES, TOEFL, fee, fingerprints, forms, etc...), eligibility can be issued to the applicant in one week.
Once you have eligibility, you can immediately register online in pearson vue for your ATT.
You will receive your ATT from pearson vue (email) after a few minutes/hours only or the day after but usually not more than 2 weeks.
You can get more info on this from the 2006 nclex candidate bulletin available for download from the homepage of ncsbn or pearson vue nclex. You can also read other threads here on applying for IL.
I hope this helps.
