Question about Poison Control RN positions

Hello, I have been a bedside Med/Surg nurse for four years and have been contemplating opportunities to change my career direction. I get a lot of satisfaction from bedside nursing but know that it is not something I want to do for more than another year or two. I am considering advanced degrees but don't see much I'd like to do, plus I am reluctant to get into a bunch of debt now that I have just finished paying off student loans. I just listened to the most recent episode of the Radiolab podcast which is about Poison Control centers and it intrigued me. After some brief google searching there seem to also be positions for RNs, not only Pharmacists and Toxicologists in Poison Control. I am wondering if anyone out there has worked in Poison Control as an RN. What kind of work is available and what is it like day to day? What education or experience do I need to be a good candidate? Where is the best place to look for open positions? Also what are salaries like? I have worked on the floor in Medicine, Surgery, Ortho, Tele, and Neurology/Neurosurgery (I have been travel nursing doing 3-6 month assignments) but have no ER or ICU experience. The only acute poison related issue I can think of is a patient I had with a Tylenol overdose for whom I had to titrate a Mucomyst drip. I have a BSN and an ACLS certification. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
