Have a 3 person panel interview coming up and never had one in the past. Anybody have this experience? Do I bring copies of my resume/references? If you have gone thru online and phone interview and now this interview coming up-is it usually a good sign there is a chance of getting hired? Thanks a bunch:yeah: in advance!!!

I can't help you too much, but obviously if they've interviewed you via other means and still want to talk to you in person they're considering hiring you. If there wasn't a good chance of you being hired they wouldn't want to waste their time meeting with you. Good luck.

Although they will have a copy of your resume, still bring copies pf resumes/references to your interview. I had a panel interview and it was not so bad afterall. A nurse manager, educator and a staff RN. All took turns in asking me questions. This was a position for the ICU new grad program, and I was asked clinical questions, previous experience, and resume specific questions.

I had a panel interview of 3, but lucky for me, one of them was a no-show so it was less intimidating. One thing I will advise - they gave a short (10 question) math test - if you know ratios, D/H x V formula, and one drip factor question it will be good. (Nothing you didn't have while in school - in fact, easier.) They asked me questions like "What would you do if...?" and I just remembered that they were looking for simple, reasonable answers, not like I was a cardiologist or a neurosurgeon. For example, the patient is NPO and IV fluids rate is TKO, and there is no urine output. What do you think is going on? Well, nothing in, nothing out, right? Patient is dehydrated...pretty simple. What to say when a CNA throws a tantrum in front of a patient? Take it to a conference room for discussion, no need to be unprofessional. Things like that. A patient is receiving d/c teaching and all of a sudden you find out another patient has pulled there IV -what do you do? Go and see the less stable patient, of course.

Panel interviews can be quite intimidating. It is a good idea to bring a few extra copies of your resume. Also, be sure to get everyone's names to send thank you notes to all of them.

I've only been on one interview so far that hasn't been a panel interview, and it was still a meeting with HR and then with the NM, so I was still interviewed by 2 people. It's a little intimidating but I went to a panel interview with what must have been 8 people plus the NM (it was for an ED position). They rotated around the table with questions, all taking notes. Once you get over the fact that it's not a scare tactic but an opportunity for you and the unit to get to know each better and see if the job/unit would be a good fit for you. Good luck!
Oh and I think they all had copies of my application/resume from when I applied online but it never hurts to have extras. :)
