hi everyone.
i tried looking up posts regarding my question, but didnt find what i needed. i also tried calling the board of nursing but the line is temporarly disconnected. (great huh?) so, im asking you guys for help.
I used to live in CA and now live in NV. I had my license endorsed from CA to NV last yr. Now my license in CA is expired and considered "deliquent." if i want to renew it, it costs 230.00 for active or 230.00 for inactive.
I currently have an ACTIVE license in NV.
Is it wise to keep both my licenses? i really dont know what to do. keeping both is costly.
do any of you know if you can have your license endorsed back to your original state? (if you let the license go of course)
i dont want to mess up any of my chances to work in Ca again as an LVN/LPN, but i really dont want to pay for 2 licenses and keep up the renewals and CE's for both.
anyone been in a similar situation?? any input helps. thanks in advance

If you plan to return to Ca. place your license in an inactive status. The payments are less.

If you're going to travel keep up your licenses. If not let it go. You can renew at a later date and time.
I have had an Oregon license for 5 years and have never worked in the state. They're expensive too...
Just the cost of business I'm afraid.

Determine what the chances are that you will need the CA license to be active in the near future and go from there. If it were me, I would make it inactive. That way it will be a lot easier to make it active again if you should have to return to CA in a hurry and will need the license to work.

Since they are the same for both active nad inactive, i would rather go active and that is if i'm going to be working there in the time before it expires. 230 isnt small money. If not i'd rather wait for when i move back to renew my license and endorse it again

If it's not a discount to renew later from an inactive status, than just let it go. You can renew it later. I traveled for a couple years, and have had licenses is 6 states. My original was in FL. I let it expire, then just did a renewal no problems when I eventually moved back for a year.
I see no point of keeping a license up if you have no immediate thoughts of returning. As long as you maintain an active license SOMEWHERE it is not a big deal.
