Question about the net not answered on here

I read thur and and forgive me if I have over looked this one. I have the Eri study book I took the pretests and also took the pretests online Im keeping an 80 in my reading but low 70 on math does ne one know what the scores must be in order to be considered? I have had advanced reading classes But I am not so great at math. so I guess the real question is if I make a low 70 on the math portion of the test is that ok or does it have to be higher?

I take my test at 2pm tomarrow. I took my lpn one in 1999 but i cant recall much of what was on it but i do remeber I scored low on the math there also but was still accepted. hmm I think I need some stress relief lol.

thanks in advance for any one who can help

It really depends on what your school is looking for. My school requires a minimum of 52% on each section. I thought the reading was harder than the math. The math was pretty basic and was exactly like the study guide - the percentages and fractions were the trickiest. I used the study guide and scored a 97 on my math and a 76 on my reading. my composite score was 87 which was in the 97% nationally. from what I have been told these are very good scores. I thought the reading on the test was harder than the study guide. I also have eng 1 &2 and two lit courses finished, but the net is different than any other reading test I have taken before. anyway, if you have studied and practiced I am sure you will do great!! Good Luck!!

The minimum score you need depends on what school/program you're applying to. I don't really know what percentile I scored in or how I did specifically... The only thing that I was told by the school when I called them was that I got a 92 composite hard score (I suck horribly at reading comp... thank goodness for that ERI guide), and it was more than enough for their program, so I was happy (but I think for the two programs I applied to, the minimum required NET score was pretty low anyways).

The above posters are correct. Your scores are good or bad depending on your program requirements.

My school requires 50% on the composite reading & 50% on the overall math in order to apply. It is not used to as a ranking.

If you have read/studied your NET Study Guide, paying attention to the tips, you should be fine with those scores.

Good luck! :D

How do you take the practise test on the web? I would love to to do this. I am taking my NET next month. I have been using the study book and former classmates who have already taken the NET, said everything in that book is on the test. No surprises with it. I am having trouble with the percentages and fractions department and could brush up on the algebra part. I never took that in high school, which was many, many moons ago.

it depends on every school...most schools in NJ is looking for 75% in each area...i hate the reading comprehension...i love math..i got a 98% in math and a low 50 in reading...they never even took the math in consideration..all they want is the english part. i'm taking the computer based net on friday for the first time...i hope it's same as the paper based. by the way how do you take the practise tests on the web...please tell me!

I took the net at my school in October and I have to say the readinf was awful on the computer. I used the study guide and I love to read and normally have no issues I got a 70% on the reading however using the study guide practice tests I did great. If you have access to an online reading test for the net use it as the computer really makes it harder. I did pass it. :) Good luck everyone.

i agree, i did really well on the practice tests, but only made 73% on the actual net taken on the computer. (luckily only 50% was required, and for my personal sanity, i was glad to know my score was way above average.) :lol2:
