Hi I am new RN in vegas and I just got my license. I have applied already to different hospitals here. I am wondering on how many weeks do I need to wait to get an interview?

you should call some of the hospitals you applied and tell them you are still interested in a job. it takes awhile to get in a hospital here in vegas because of the background checks and sometimes a couple interviews per job.

I am new to Las Vegas as well and just applied for a clinic job on monster.com this weekend. How long do I wait to call? Is it wise to apply for more than one job at a time?

Don't wait for them to call.... it may take a long time. I had been hunting for 4m when I finally got a job, just walked in & applied, got interview & hired. The next day Summerlin called to interview me! Agggrrrr! Be persistent & Network, Network, Network! (Got 1 interview thru my daughter's dr. office calling in a favor for me).
Good luck!

Hi-I just received my NV RN nursing license-the next step is to get a job in Vegas. My fiance has a permanent residence in Vegas and I travel there every month from ND. My questions are: How long do you think it will take to get a job-I have worked as a nurse for many years-in all areas and specialties, any help or advice on what to do-send off resumes or stop in at the local hospitals?-I am an associates RN-do you think I will have a problem getting a job since I do not have my BSN?-I live a block from MT. View-any thoughts about that hospital?I plan to move in June of 2008. Any help or advice would be great! Please PM me if we can talk more.
I put my resume on http://www.healthjobsusa.com/ before I even got my license and I got so many calls for travel assignments and local per diem jobs that I had to take it off. After I got my temp RN license in NV, I applied for a clinic job on monster.com and followed up with an email. I got a call in about 3 weeks. I had to decline the interview because they informed me that they were moving the clinic and it was going to be too far for me to drive.
I think there are enough jobs and if you go to the hospitals website you will find jobs posted that you can apply for. My ACLS has expired since my last ER job. As soon as I can get that renewed, I plan on going to the hospital itself and talking to the HR people. I am hoping to work at Mountain View or the new hospital, Centennial Hills.
I am still new here, so I can’t really say anything about the hospitals, I just know I don’t want to drive into town, close to the strip. Traffic is crazy busy.
Good luck. I hope this was helpful.
