I understand there will be required hours in required settings but if you had to do it all over what extras would you do? Radiology?, ER? what?

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Radiology is a biggie - at least for me - I would have liked to have spent more time there.

Radiology definietly! Ortho would be a biggie for me too!

Specializes in FNP.

I think I did at least 100 papa, and looked at about 2 xrays. So yeah, radiology, lol.

ER and Radiology

Specializes in Critical Care, Orthopedics, Hospitalists.

I'll tell ya, I may not be able to really read a CXR or KUB as a new grad (my program, like most others it seems, didn't really delve into this); however, I can read a radiology report like no one else! LOL

I was asking an FNP this the other day. In regards to xrays, she said "We go over them, but you don't learn enough to read them."

Sad.

Specializes in allergy and asthma, urgent care.

I would have liked to spend time with a certified diabetes educator and in cardiology.

Thank you all looks like radiology is winning and I like the DM ed. suggestion. Also Keep' um comming. thanks again
