I have an appointment with mentor on Monday. She has already set dates and approved my classes for the semester. Question? I have access to the courses reading material and test. I am sure I can start reading but can I start submitting the quizzes for the course. The course is a performance assessment and not objective. I started a quiz but got scared to submit cause it's not May 1st. I guess if they didn't want us to start, they wouldn't have put it up. What are you guys doing?

My first course is an objective assessment and I was able to submit the pre-assessment yesterday, even though May 1st has not arrived yet. However, I should mention that I had my first conversation with my program mentor yesterday, and she says she 'unlocked' the first course so I could get a head start on studying.
If I were you, I would wait until you talk with your mentor before submitting anything.

Honestly, you can probably do whatever the system will let you do before the official start of term. if it's a performance exam class, quizzes and such would be completely optional so if the system will let you turn it in, nothing bad will happen. For an OA class, the preassessment might need to be 'opened', but little mini quizzes for a PA class are fine. Just remember on classes that have 'tasks', you generally don't HAVE to do any of those quizzes. Which class is this for?

Yes, if this is a performance assessment class, the only thing you are required to do are the tasks in Taskstream. Everything else is extra, and totally optional.
Frankly, I don't even look at the course of study. I go right to Taskstream and start on the tasks. If I have questions on how to do something or I feel like a particular question is unclear, I go to the learning community for that course. I do look to see if there are any webinars for the task and I will watch those.

I'm asking because earned a 72% on my pre-assessment score for an objective assessment course. My mentor wants me to complete every single assignment and read every assigned chapter, but I need to know if this needs to be done on objective assessment courses.
What about the objective assessment courses? Do we need to complete all the assignments if we feel we have a decent grasp on the subject already?I'm asking because earned a 72% on my pre-assessment score for an objective assessment course. Nope, you don't need to do anything - I did quite a few of my classes with barely even looking at the COS as long as I passed the preassessment. Your mentor is probably being cautious. For care of the older adult I only glanced at the sections for medicare, etc. You can always check them off as 'done' if you know the material =) =).
Agree with Featherz - I spent very minimal time on the courses that had OAs. Take the pre-assessment, brush up on the topics you did less well in, and then bite the bullet and take the exam.
Feathers it's a Msn course called Advance information management. Your read and and answer questions and after each section there is a quiz. I have done one unit and answerd the quiz questions but have not submitted but saved it. You have 6 attempts for the quizzes. I wonder do you have to get a 100 on the quizzes or just pass them. I have a call with my mentor tomorrow.
