Question about awaiting license after passing nclex, had to submit court documents

Published

Please forgive me if I did not post this in correct forum. I am quite confused about navigating this site. My situation is this: I passed the NCLEX (IL) then got a letter stating I had to submit court documents and a letter explaining an arrest 5 years ago (I was involved in a car accident when to my surprise, I was arrested for driving on a suspended license. It turned out it was because earlier in the year, I had sold my car THEN got a vehicle emissions testing notice. I no longer owned nor possessed the car so of course I did not get it tested. Apparently my license was then suspended. After the arrest, I was issued a court date in which I provided proof that I had no longer owned the car at the time I received the emission letter. Charges were dropped, my driver's license was reinstated. SO, I submitted the required court documents and my letter explaining the situation (along with the police report this past Wednesday. I thought, OK, now it might just take 1 month and my license will be sent in the mail. But then I freaked out just now reading that someone said it could take 4 months! I passed the NCLEX June 30th! The only thing I was guilty of was being in a car accident (other driver didn't even show up to court so I wasnt even issued so much as a ticket) Does anybody know how long this may take to get my license? I need to work :/ I'm starting to freak out

Any word on what happened in this post, I am going through the same thing. I have sent in all documents and just want to know if there was any word on you getting your license yet? I really can't afford to wait 4 months to get my license I have already been accepted into two positions and was working at one for a whole week before I got this letter.

ATT is just permisson to take exam. Being granted license need to meet ALL BON requirements. BON average response is 2-3 months across US, lengthier in CA, IL, MD, FL, NY due to volume

So i sent the letter off to the board of nursing... waiting for them to reply. i pray they give me a license number now !! #FingersCrossed

In the same position.. still awaiting for the BON in IL to get in contact with me ! Oh my God i already have a job lined up and i was offered the position. Now i await for the BON to respond to my incident AND for them to grant me my license! ;( i just hope this doesnt take long since they go off their own time ...#Stressing !!!!  :banghead:

You can try following up with them every week or so to check on the status...I wouldn't do it any more frequently than that since it would probably have no effect other than annoying them and making your blood pressure go up. But IMO I see nothing wrong with a little occasional nudge.

Hope you get a speedy answer.

I just sent my documents off Tuesday, been checking everyday to check on the status, woke up this morning and I HAVE MY LICENSE!!!! Took them less then a week to come to decision, but I only had an arrest record with no charges filed. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE IN THIS POSITION, PRAY EVERYDAY BECAUSE I WILL!!!!

I had an arrest record, but no charges were filed, the case was dropped, this happened 7 years ago when I was away at college.

Congrats on your license! I shouldnt have allowed myself to listen to the negativity that it would take 4+ months. I too got my licence like a week after I submitted the documents. After 25+ applications, I got my first job today!!! I went in to fill out an app and the administrator walked by right then, overhearing what I was applying for, and asked "do you have time for an interview right now" next thing I knew I was in the DONs office being told "Id like you on our team" Im so excited!!! All that worry and anger over the court stuff for no reason. : )

Hello all, I'm brand new to this and I see some in my same situation. Any advice?
