U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi

I have a current/valid NY license, speaking-7 and over all band score of 6.5 in ielts which I believe is qualified to apply for visa screening certificate. Is it possible that an employer can sponsor me if ever I get the chance to go in new York and apply there personally? What are the usual process of applying as a nurse to New York. (I am currently living in England from Asian origin). I hope you can help me here. Thanks

It is very difficult to get hired in NYC even for american citizens who do not need visa sponsorship. With so many nurses (including experienced) who do not need a visa sponsored applying to jobs I suggest if you want to be in America, go to states that actually have a 'nursing shortage' and to rural areas, no cities as cities often have too much competition for jobs. From this forum, it seems Texas border towns, Montana, North and South Dakota, and any small town/rural area that people do not really want to move to are those that need nurses. However if you want NYC area, you will be jobless long time. Employers do not want to spend money sponsoring a visa when there is so many green card holders or citizens that apply to their jobs.
