QueensBorough Community College Help!

Published

hi, I'm a second year student at qcc, and I'm working my way into the nursing program. I've taken most of the pre-requisites and done well ranging from B-A but for a&p I I scored a C-. I know they ask for a B or better and some people might bless you with even a C. I'm taking a&p II and I'm working harder and I believe I can get a B or better in that class. So, I was wondering if I still had a chance of getting into the program with A&PII than I, even though I know both are needed.

Help! Please and thank you!

I graduated from QCC in 2011, and from what I remember, the A&P 1 grade is what really counts for admission. If it's still as competitive as when I applied, that C- is not going to cut it. I'm sorry. :(

The CUNY system nursing programs weigh the pre-nursing GPA very heavily. Your looking at GPA>3.7 to be competitive.

I would try to make an appointment to speak with the department head. I know she personally interviews all the applicants before they get in. From my interview with her, it didn't seem like any of the criteria for admission were set in stone and she would probably be able to give you the best answer as to whether you can get in. Bring a print out of your Tiger Tracks audit so she can take a look. Best of luck!!

The department head (chairperson) didn't personally interview anyone in the program prior to them being accepted that I know of. They have group interviews and advisement with any of the many professors that teach there, but not with her.
