The PVT works! I've noticed that it is not a good indicator of if you failed (even if they took your money so don't lose hope if you get the "bad popup"), but it is a PERFECT indicator of if you passed. So, if you get the "good pop-up" then YOU PASSED!
OrganizedChaos. Thanks for you comments regarding the PVT. We appreciate your feedback. You have the right to express your opinions, as do others. For those who have recently sat for and passed the NCLEX-RN, our first hand experience has shown the PVT to be accurate with zero/low risk. I hope you understand that. I also hope you have a great day and I hope the situation with your family and personal life improves.
As I have said, I have done my research. I follow closely with the PVT. It is at best 50/50. What gets under my skin is suggesting to people to do it or saying it works without telling them the risks involved.
There are risks involved. There are many educated nurses on here who know what they are talking about. It's just a trick, & it should be considered just for fun. People have gotten the wrong answers, people have lost money & jobs because of the PVT.
For those of us having to wait 6 to 8 weeks or longer for results, the pvt provides a sort of relief. Am I putting my trust and faith into it 100%? NO! The only thing that will make this official to me is getting my results from the board. Personally, I was very skeptical when I received the first "good pop up" but here we are 50 hours later and its still there...
As far the money that may be risked.. If you do indeed fail then you have to pay to retake the test anyway and if your worried about being charged for a test that you may have passed then just simply use a credit card with insufficient funds. Either way, to each is own right.
Thats great. Until you have experienced the PVT, what is your input even worth? I utilized it and it was accurate. I passed. OH and I am an RN. And I still have my 200. So. Well worth it and so is my first hand experience with the PVT. Stop bashing something that you have ZERO experience with.
It is relevant to US. It was accurate for US. It also worked for those in the same situation as US. Those who will be taking their NCLEX-RN in the near future who don't have access to quick results or who just plain ole dont want to wait for their results will find great use of the PVT in alleviating any anxieties. And once they pass, they will go on to be excellent RNs. Thanks for providing your valuable first hand experience and being a positive contribution to this thread.

You could get charged if the credit card is still valid even if you change the dates. There is a post on here about that.

When I go back to school & take the NCLEX do you think I will do the PVT? It will pertain to me. I can wait 2 days until I get quick results. Nothing is official or correct about the PVT.

When you go back and earn the right to sit for your RN, then you will have the choice to utilize the PVT or not. Won't be any skin off mine or anyone else's nose. It's your prerogative. UNTIL THEN, thanks for your input and I hope you have a great day.
Everything is relevant to us as this is a nursing forum.I can say the PVT is 50% accurate & akin to flipping a coin (or using a magic 8 ball, whichever you like), because that is what you are doing. All it is, is a very costly & ridiculous trick. If you want to see if you passed check your state's BON or pay $8. Otherwise send me $200 & I can tell you with just as much certainty as the PVT.
There is a very specific way you have to do the "trick" now. I would say no one does it correctly because who the hell wants to lose $200???
Again made up statistics. Even if you think someone using the PVT is equally likely to get any of the different popups, you are still wrong because there are three possible outcomes of the PVT, not two. Show me someone who did it right and had the trick be inaccurate. Show me someone who did it right and lost their money. Im open to being wrong but youre not backing up your claims. Until you do so, I will continue to believe that you are simply making **** up.
Isn't this a place to be supportive, give advice and help fellow NURSES (not based on the letters behind their name or the fact that they may be new or not)
We can all be adults and agree to disagree. Some people believe the PVT works, some don't.
The whole purpose of this thread ( I thought) was so other new test takers can post their experience with PVT not to go back and forth bashing what others believe.
