Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

Whoa they responded to you pretty fast! Are you applying for the accelerated or regular program? Maybe I'll see you at the orientation or in the fall trimester!

Accelerated. And they were quick because I called like every week! Lol they probably got tired of me lol. But yea! I will be going in August. I'm so excited :)

Should not be that far since its a barrio (town) of san Juan.

Artofisis- Im planning on heading down to PR for my BSN this summer but am worried which program to go with: metropolitan u or interamerican u. Have you found any more information on which is more updated? I know they are BOTH accredited but I would like the teachers to speak English, facilities to be nice, and of course have a fair punch at passing the NCLEX. What are your thoughts?

What are anyones thoughts metropolitan u vs. interamerican u??

Ive read that they are both branches of the same uni! As far as what looks better on a resume, not sure, guess it is up to the corporation that hires you, also Ive read on here that metro has some nicer stuff. Teachers, not sure we will have to hear back from some of the folks that are in school at the moment, but also teaching staff can change from year to year as well.

Actually they are two complete different schools from what I found out

Im wondering the same thing. Im just going to fly down there go to both schools and see what feels right. From what I have gathered Umets program is a rolling admission and inter starts in aug only.

I dont think the school on the resume matters when its 2 schools most people have never heard of.

Yeah, I just booked my ticket for May. They were $130 round trip leaving from ft lauderdale. I'll have my cousin drive me to both and take a tour, speak with students and faulty

Both La Inter (Universidad Interamericana) and UMET (Universidad Metropolitana) have programs in English and both programs are 100% English. Most people on this thread go to La Inter. I think there was one person a while back that posted for UMET but other than that all of us go to La Inter so we don't really know anything about UMET.

I know the English program at La Inter has been around for 13 years. I also know that the English program for UMET has been around for 2 and 1/2 years.

I also know someone in our class was thinking about switching after the first trimester and went to the school and checked things out but ended up staying in our program.

I am not positive about this but I think their BSN is 2.5 years and the accelerated BSN at La Inter is 22 months. The other plus at La Inter is if you really, really don't feel like staying the whole 22 months for your BSN you can finish with your ADN as an RN after 11 months. I am pretty sure UMET does not have this option. La INter just got this with the last reacreditation. Before it was kind of possible but you needed to apply through a school in Wisconsin.

I suggest doing what some of you are doing. Go to both schools and talk to students and faculty and make your decision.

By the way someone asked about orientation. I spoke to the nursing building a month ago and they said the weekend before memorial weekend if I remember that correctly.
