Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

There are bad areas. Ive lived there before and I have family there. Try not to get a place like los caserios which are equivalent to the projects in the states. Certain areas do have more crime than others you just have to do your research. Im staying with my grandma in the mountains lol but most of the crimes happen in the projects, night clubs, bars, etc.

Oh I am sure there are bad areas in San Juan but I don't know of any around the school. I drive all over, up and down, and around a 3 mile radius of school and I have never felt unsafe in the slightest.

Yeah one of the infamous bad areas is La Perla which is a getto in Old San Juan. The La Perla residents have prime real estate in San Juan. It is really a shame.

Yes. Areas south of san Juan are safer lol. I'm glad you feel safe because it makes me feel better walking to my car at night. Ah three more months and I'm there! Lol

Hey Florida ppl! I just called the Florida nursing board and they told me that Puerto Rico is NOT considered international. Therefore, we do not have to go through any other state! Yay lol

Like totally awesome dude!!! I live in st. pete and love to surf and scuba dive and kite surf and have been to PR several times what a lovely slice of paradise, so if I can get another bachelors degree that is just icing on the cake!:coollook:

I agree! I have BA in sociology and getting my bsn has always been what I wanted but as you know nursing school is not cheap or easy to get into. If you love surfing then rincon is the place for you lol. Not to live but visit on the weekends. You may know but if you don't its the place to go for surfing.

No i do not have a degree just my a.a.

muchas gracias. oakley44 i turned in my application. I am going to call them like everyday. i hope i do get in.. fingers crossed:thankya:

Specializes in Med-Surg; Home Health; Geriatrics.

Thanks everyone for the responses! Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend until Aug 2012, but I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row! Is there anyone attending Aug. 2012? I am excited already!

Hi,

I was just reading through the old posts and was wondering if anyone knows when the application deadline is for InterAmerican, or any other schools? Also any other information about admissions anyone can contribute is greatly appreciated. I want to try and get in for Fall 2011 as it is very difficult to get into a program here in FL.

Thanks

Hi! I've been stalking the posts for several months and finally got around to registering for a user name. I applied for Fall 2011, have sent in transcripts and catalog page copies, and have received a confirmation that they've received all my materials via phone (after many many many call attempts!). Does anyone have an idea as to how long it may take to hear about an admission decision?

Also, does anyone know when the orientation may be for this year? I'm thinking about just showing up for the orientation if I don't hear about my admissions in time.

Thanks!

Yeah you have to call so many times just to make sure they got EVERYTHING!! I will be attending this fall. I sent my stuff in in Jan. and by Feb they were calling me that I can go in for that semester!!! It was too soon so I couldnt go. But they said I can register for classes after April.
