Providence vs Regional vs Native Hospitals

Published

Hello,

There is a strong possibility my family may be moving to Anchorage this summer. I currently work at a trauma hospital and am wondering about the hospitals n Anchorage. I would like to continue to work with Level 1 pts in the ED. If someone could compare the hospitals and their acuity levels I would appreciate it. Also if you wouldn't mind telling me what you like about the hospital it would help make my decision easier. I am guessing with night shift differential I would get paid about $40/hr. Thanks for all of your input and taking the time to respond.

A friend of mine works for Providence in their hospice system.

She makes over $90k/year. It is part of a larger health system (that much is probably obvious).

ANMC is part of the native health system of the state.

Alaska Regional is a local hospital with a good reputation.

Sorry I can't help you out much.

Smart move, moving in the summertime.

I'm also looking for information comparing these 3 hospitals. Knowing which one pays most would be nice but not as nice as knowing what the patient: nurse ratios are and which hospitals use LPNs. Yes, LPNs are great. Please no-one take it personally that I'm just interested in caring for my 2 ICU patients and do not wish to myself supervise other staff, besides critical care techs.
