Providence TIPS April 2021

Published

Hello!

This will be the thread for all those applying to Providence SOCAL April 2021!

I submitted my application today. This is my second time applying. I applied for the September (didn't have my RN lic at the time) cohort but didn't get selected for an in person interview. Last time I was requested to do a video interview. This time I received a self paced text only interview.

Best of luck to everyone ?

Hi everyone. For those who were offered positions, how long after your interview did it take to hear back from them? I am interviewing this week for the September cohort and was curious. Thanks!

It took about 3 weeks after my interview to receive my offer!

For anyone who interviewed at Mission (OC) last cohort, did anyone get job offers whose portal did not change before getting a phone call? Interviewed last week but my portal hasn't changed since June 4th.

I’m sorry to say if your portal doesn’t change you won’t be getting a call/:

To anyone currently working at LCOM (Torrance), what is the requirement for scrubs? Is there a certain color we have to wear? I know they will go over it closer to the start date but just curious :)

Hi! At LCOMT, you can wear whatever scrub color you’d like! You can even pair scrub bottoms with a normal t- shirt. :)

Are your hospitals now offering 20k sign on bonuses + referral bonuses?

I love the hospital I've been hired at, but the pay is not competitive for the hospitals around here. Especially seeing these travel contracts/looking at other major local hospitals...The Providence CEO made like $11 Mil. last year.

Is anyone else having trouble with hiring/retention on their units?

Sorry for the complaints, I just wonder how it is for the last round of new hires. I love a lot about the TIPS program and where I work, but I also can't wait to get a year or two of experience and bouce, unless the year pay raise is pretty significant. Hope everyone is keeping healthy and doing well ?

Horrible work environments, hostile work environments, barely any trauma centers, no or weak unions and low pay... But if you guys want to work for an organization that rec'd 1/2 billion for the pandemic and for the first 6 months had nurses working without proper PPE... Go for it.

*shudders* that place.

I warn all women of color to refrain from having their babies there... Many of their L&D staff sound like klansmen...

Hi,

I have been offered a position for the January 2022 cohort with LCOM Torrance. I’m wondering if one of you can answer a question I have. I would appreciate it.

Is there a special scrub code such as color and etc? I would like to go scrub shopping but not sure if I’m require to wear a specific color.

thank you in advance ?

Hi! I’m about to apply for the next cohort, and would love for some advice for those that were experienced nurses applying to the tips program!
