Nurses Residency

Published

Hi all,

Starting this thread before the Jan '22 cohort application opens up today (hopefully soon!) I have all the required documents ready to submit, patiently refreshing and hoping the link to apply pops up soon. Let's all connect and keep each other updated on our application process. Good luck to everyone! :)

awesome! I also have no idea which shift they'll give me. I'm still waiting to receive correspondence from mikayla

Same. I don't know about you, but the nurse manager for the ICU wasn't involved in my interview and I didn't get to ask any questions about the unit so I also asked Mikayla for more info/to connect me with the best person to provide it. allnurses isn't letting me private message you, but if you want to message me we can share notes without making everyone else read through it LOL

I actually don't have access to the messaging system here either, and I'd love to get in touch with you. I created an anon email address so you can PM me that way. I just don't want to compromise my identity on this forum haha. here's the email address: [email protected] if you'd like to get in touch

Just got a call from LCOM Torrance for an offer in the ICU!

Congrats! Did you receive an email before they called you or did you only have a portal update?

nice, are you day shift or nights? I'm curious because I was interested in ICU and OR but picked OR as my first choice because I cannot handle the night shift schedule and I figured most floor positions would be nights.

I only saw the update on the portal and got a call! I didn’t get any of those emails where they are preparing an offer before the call.

I’m nightshift! I said nights for my preference to increase my chance to get the unit LOL. Not sure if that matters haha

For LCOM Torrance, has anyone else heard back via email or phone today?

I just got a call with an offer for LCOM Torrance. It came from a Seattle phone number.

Hey Everyone! I just received an offer for LCOM Torrance nights in ICU and was offered $40.60/hr with a $4 Night Shift differential. Did you all receive the same or similar offers?
Should I try to negotiate for a higher starting pay? What starting pay were you all offered?
TIA

Got the email from Mikayla ! With the unofficial job offer ?

I would negotiate. It’s worth the try.

Ah I see, yeah I accepted a night shift position for my current job and it was a big problem for me. I'm absolutely miserable on nights and there's a waiting list to switch to days which is why I'm leaving.
