Did anybody apply to the position for BSN new grads for the Providence hospitals job fair for the epic implementation technician?
Yes I am driving far. From riverside area! It's worth it though. I commuted to another job in LA prior to this and I survived lol. I may stay with family closer to the area if I'm working several days in a row though. How about you?
I am driving from Irvine to probably Mission Hills, which may be a 2 hr drive max with traffic. I do not know the working hours yet, does anybody know about that?

I think when they are training us it will be everyday? Then after that maybe 3 times a week. I ask the recruiter it's like atleast 24 hrs per week. And We will have a set schedule. I had to make sure it was not an on call, that you can't even predict your schedule hehe
I also have chosen the first wave:)
RNTin it was at Mission Hill. What I was told is if you were asked to interview- then it was only for that location. I applied to all four for example but where I interviewed is the only place I am being considered for. :/ I didn't ask how many were interviewed for how many spots. There were 3 on the panel and all were very nice. I asked about the other locations and they said they were already conducting panel interviews there... But who knows if they are done or all units have been called. Thanks for the luck! Praying this is the one. :). You all with Epic start at different times? In November? I worked in a hospital that had Epic, the nurses will definitely need you. It is very different from the old system and an opportunity to shine with knowledge!
So I have no chance then I also applied to four hospitals but no invite for an interview i guess its time for me to move on.
what type of questions have they asked? Are they mainly Behavioral/situational questions?
Hi RNTin. I am sorry. You cannot quote me on anything because I truly do not know if my source was 100% sure in what she said... And who knows- someone could back out or they open more spots. We hope for the best. The questions were behavioral and clinical. My suggestion is to keep applying and working on interview skills. Hope I did okay. :/ Don't give up. We keep swimming... Just keep swimming.
Congratulations to all who were just hired on to be Epic specialists! I imagine some of you will be training me at some point in the near future:) Just something to think about, Late February was the month New Grad applications opened up at Torrance and San Pedro this year. For those planning to apply for new grad at those locations, might want to choose a beginning wave to do Epic so that you will be done with your commitment obligation in time to start the Spring cohorts. Again, grats on your hiring, Epic rollout is going to be a huge event at the CA Providence hospitals and you guys are going to be a part of making it work
I've seen a few new grads posting about getting interviews for PHCMC (mission hills) congratulations btw... did anyone else hear back regarding the new grad positions for the other providence hospitals? Please post if you already interviewed/scheduled to interview and what providence hospital. How were you invited-- phone/email?? Just wanted to know if there is still any chance for some of us who haven't heard :) thank you.
my interview went well I think! they were all very nice. I had 3 on the panel, 2 directors/mangers and 1 staff RN. they first ask about yourself, why you want to work there, be a nurse, about their mission and magnet status. then behavioral questions. them clinical questions, what nursing skills you've done and a clinical scenario. we should find out by the end of this week!

I picked the first wave but stated I'd be happy with either. I just want to start already!
