I was just there this afternoon to visit a friend, and I asked the RN if they have new grad programs, she said they don't because it's expensive to train new grads and she wished me good luck on finding a job and said I should start on nursing homes and convalescent hospitals. :)
I'm reviewing for my NCLEX RN right now.
hey nursegirl75, since we are both new to this site i don't think we're able to private message each other yet, can you email me? i would really like to speak with you. [email protected]
I work at Providence Holy Cross Hospital and they have lost a substantial amount of money this year. With the opening of the new wing and the over hiring of med surg/dou nursing they are in the position of asking nursing to voluntarily resigns with a severance packages. They have fired the Director of Nursing, the manager of telemetry/ dou and the head of human resources shortly after finding out that the hospital has lost money. They pay a lot of money also to provide nurses on night shift with 3 months off a year, while other departments like Respiratory Therapist are being called off in rotation and having to use there PTO. They are not financially or administratively stable right now.
They must have found a pot of gold somewhere if they truly are serious getting everyone's hopes up again.

I was offered a position as a New Grad RN at Providence Holy Cross Mission Hills set to start next month (September 2011) and received a call from HR today stating due to budget cuts that the program would not occur. I signed the paperwork last week and passed the background check & drug test. Did anyone else receive this call? I am at a loss of words.
