I was offered a position as a New Grad RN at Providence Holy Cross Mission Hills set to start next month (September 2011) and received a call from HR today stating due to budget cuts that the program would not occur. I signed the paperwork last week and passed the background check & drug test. Did anyone else receive this call? I am at a loss of words.
DOn't look at it that way. Going to interviews are never a waste of time. Every interview is a great learning experiences. However because of Holy Cross crappy reputation, do not stop looking for a job elsewhere. Even if they offer you the job, still apply to other hospitals because Holy Cross will NOT, I repeat WILL NOT, keep their word. Offering you a job does not guarantee you anything. I won't be surprise if they do hire you and then have to let you go after 6months-1 year due to budget cuts. SO if you get hired try to get all the experiences you can and then RUN! Gluck

I agree with sallyp911, they are still in the same predicament 3 months ago. Believe me, nothing has changed. One rejection was enough for me because it is a indication of how they value their employees. I am blessed to have picked myself up and found an amazing RN position at a better hospital that pays much more. Holy Cross is a lost cause.
