I work for Providence Holy Cross hospital and they are financially in the hole this year. Due to poor planning of the new tower opening, they over hired nurses without waiting for the floors to open. Now we are being asked to voluntarily resign and they have fired the director of nursing and head of human resources and the manager of telemetry/dou. They are not doing a good job of taking care of there own, so believe me, taking care of others is not there priority right now. I can't image we can get Magnet again. The morale is at a all time low, so I hate to say it, but this is not the place you want to be right now. I hope it works out for you. They really should of been more honest with you and tell you what the situation was like instead of waiting last minute.

With the opening of the new wing and the over hiring of med surg/dou nursing they are in the position of asking nursing to voluntarily resigns with a severance packages. They have fired the Director of Nursing, the manager of telemetry/ dou and the head of human resources shortly after finding out that the hospital has lost money. They pay a lot of money also to provide nurses on night shift with 3 months off a year, while other departments like Respiratory Therapist are being called off in rotation and having to use there PTO. They are not financially or administratively stable right now.
