.. do a search for GI BILL....
it is very easy.
You will just want to review CHAPTER 33 (the new gi bill) GI BILL.
It's not a set amount of money (anymore - or rather as of August 09) - it's based upon your schools tuition (which payment goes to them) and your schools zip code (where you get paid E5 BAH).
Not exactly true...you are eligible for 48 months of GI Bill in a lifetime. For instance, if you have 36 months from AD, then transfer to reserves, you can garner an additional 12 months. Also, if you have time left in your GI Bill, you could possibly receive the new GI Bill, assuming you qualify.
Also, bear in mind that if you have one single day of GI Bill benefit remaining on the first day of a semester, it will qualify you for benefits for the remainder of the semester. There are alot tricks and tips to get the most out of your GI Bill.

I'm a bit confused- who gets E-5 pay? The school (tuition) or the student?
How would someone use their GI Bill and still fill out a FAFSA? Will I even still need to fill one out or will I not get any money if the GI Bill covers all of the school costs?
...you can go to gibill.gov and look at their pamphlet example of the payout.
The student gets E5 w/ depenedent BAH pay for the zip code of the school he is attending.. provided its full time and not online.. * etc see details. You get this monthly at the end of each moth you qualify for...
The school is paid directly from the gov to reimburse/pay for your tuition UP to that states highest level of in-state tuition... if you have scholarships that paid for tuition.. they pay for it and gi bill can possibly cover the remainder. If your tuition is higher then the state's in state tuition level (of the schools state -not yours) then you owe the remainder.
Fafsa basically asks you are you using GI benefits next year? If so - which chapter (chp 30 is old gi bill, chp 33 is new gi bill...)

I've applied to serve in the Commissioned Corps of the USPHS, but I'm weighing whether I want to sign a contract or not. ONe of the perks to serving is the 40K available via the GI Bill after three years. Can anyone weigh in on how easy it is to use these funds, etc.? THANKS!
