In my opinion they run big. I'm fairly small so I ordered my tops in xxs and they are still a bit roomy for my taste.

Erinicoleb08, mine took about a month to come in so you can average when you'd like to order. It might be better to order now so you'll have them when you're ready to relocate to Baltimore. I agree Aug is a good start date. You don't wanna feel press...

Congrats on your interview! My advice is to practice generic interview questions before hand. Pack a separate bag with your scrubs and shoes inside for your share time. Try not to be too nervous, you got this!!
  9. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

There was a mutual agreement between the manager and I about my start date. So I would say yes I got to choose it. You can discuss with them during your interview when you would prefer to start.

The hospital as a whole does new employee orientation for the first few days. Then the RN group gets split into the adult nursing side and the pediatric nursing side. From there you have departmental orientation. Once you are on your designated unit ...

I just waited until they reached out to me. It shouldn't be much longer now! Just keep checking your application status and email. Wishing you the best!
  12. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

The application process is pretty standard for any unit you apply too. All you really need to do is update your resume as well as tailor your cover letter to each position you apply for. The new thing they are doing is making generic RN positions ope...
  13. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

I would suggest looking around and applying now. I graduated in December 2016 and applied for this position back in October. It took about a week to hear back about an interview and share time/shadow day. I was offered the position and officially acc...

Congrats on your interview danilups! It took a few days for me to hear back from my Manager in regards to the position. She told me during my interview when she would reach out to me. Good luck to you!

What unit will you be on?
  16. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

It's great to hear about how much support you're receiving! I've heard some horror stories of nurses "eating their young" but it's good to see that's not the case. Are you now officially on the floor working with patients and your preceptor or are yo...

How's orientation been going RNGrad16? Hope you're having fun and learning a lot!
  18. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

Yes, you can JmhATL! The test is really not that difficult at all. Just study hard and believe in yourself!
  19. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

I bought a 3 month UWorld subscription while I was still in school but didn't really put it to use until after I graduated. I studied everyday for about 5 weeks before testing.
  20. Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

Thank you very much! I used UWorld and Hurst. Hurst really helped me to brush up on my content and UWorld was great practice question wise. The rationales of each question are very detailed and ultimately that's what helped me the most. Also, the lay...

Took the NCLEX last Saturday and found out today I passed in 75 questions!! The PVT also worked for me. Good luck bg148602 if you haven't already taken it!

You are definitely very brave to be traveling across the country for a job, I don't think I could do it! There was actually another forum created for all the 2017 JHH employees that you could join, might help you feel a little less excommunicated. Th...

Congrats to you as well, that's awesome! How was the NCLEX for you? I'm getting nervous just thinking about it. Did you use anything to study? I've heard that it is really not as hard as people make it out to be due to the fact that it's an entry lev...
