    Dimensional Analysis - Math Problem

You are confused because you are trying to incorporate a distractor into your math. 5 mL vial, 100 mL vial... it doesn't matter. 1 mL / 10,000 units

My family doesn't think Nursing is for me.

It was at my school. You didn't have to work as a CNA, but you had to either already be a CNA or go through their CNA program, including clinicals, before starting nursing courses. Definitely a great requirement.

Eye protection for ALL patient interaction

Ours does, but I fortunately work at a building separated from the main building on campus and no one here wears eye protection nor cares if anyone else does. Every now and then we'll get a chain email sent out, but nothing changes.

I Am Absolutely Miserable Because I Hate Being A Nurse

There's a million nursing jobs that don't involve being another number in a hospital.

    Pronouncing Death

I work at a inpatient hospice facility - we always document that we listen for absence of pulse and breathing for one full minute. You might see some apneas that are pushing a minute at the end, but you'll still hear a heartbeat. If you haven't ...

10 Signs You Might Not Have The Job

#1 - #100: They haven't called you and told you "Congratulations, you got the job!" Until that time, keep interviewing.

When Will the Nursing Shortage Be Over?

CA or the small handful of other places that may be true isn't representative of most of the country. So no, that isn't proof of anything.

    Nurses are Fleeing the Hospital

This article completely missed the possibility that there might exist a general culture of poor work ethic contributing to this problem. Then again, it could be that my ADHD loves the chaos... LOL
  9. Highly doubt you're going to get 150k telehealth position as a new grad. I've looked at some of the job ads for PMHNPs and what you're looking for requires a couple years of experience to even be considered from what I've seen.

I’m tired of being a bedside nurse...

Are you in an oversaturated market area? How wide are you casting your net? If you stay with your current company you might have to work your way up through multiple levels to get where you want to be, whereas if you look into smaller organizations y...

    Mandated to work Saturday?

Before getting too worked up, talk to HR and also find out if there are any applicable state laws where you live. My guess is your manager is out of her authority here, but there's a chance you agreed to this when you signed up. HR should be able to ...

Second Thoughts on Becoming a Nurse

For the love of God, don't make this decision based on opinions from this forum. This place is 98% people who hate their job and want to tell everyone else about how much they hate it.

When Will the Nursing Shortage Be Over?

I always feel bad for the nurses that come to work and are full of nothing but negativity. They tend to be unhappy about most things in their lives though. Now the social workers with a master's degree making way less than an entry level RN... I do f...

Do you ever pick up your phone on your day off when work calls you?

My manager picks up last minute NOC shifts all the time and helps us out on the floor regularly. If she calls me I will answer, sure. If they need help and I don't want to go in, I say no thanks and that's the end of it. If they are short and need he...

    how to get into hospital??!

First step is either move or get your BSN. CA is oversaturated.

9-5 (or 8-5) shifts as a new grad possible?

Probably depends where you live, but where I am it is absolutely possible. You may have to look outside of the hospital and maybe consider a specialty you weren't necessarily looking at, but yes, totally possible.
  18. Needing RN to BSN in the first place is the real joke. Seeing people paying 25k per semester at private schools for a BSN and then coming out less-prepared to be nurses than RNs who went to technical schools for $1500 per semester is the real tragedy...

    FiO2 and O2 Concentrators

Thank you that makes total sense. Trust me, if it were up to us we wouldn't be using vents and bipaps and airvos. The facility I work at is an inpatient unit for GIP LOC hospice patients. Patients and families are not always willing to discontin...

    FiO2 and O2 Concentrators

So we had a patient coming onto hospice the other day that was on 100% FiO2 on a BiPap (16/10, 20). Our inpatient unit uses oxygen concentrators and does not have wall oxygen. I had been told previously that we can't do super high O2 concentrations w...

    Canada’s preparedness compared to USA

Has anyone done the UNE Chemistry online? I'm just wondering what kind of time commitment it is and if anyone has been able to complete the courses in less than the 16 weeks that their website says?

    Figs scrubs

Has anyone tried these? Just ordered a set with the jogger pants and I hate everything about them. The shirt is sewn so it looks like it has shoulder pads. The bottom of the top is stitched very narrow. I bought xl because they looked like they p...
