  1. A&P experts please help...

Please post a link to an image that clearly marks the medial aspect of the great toe. The best I have come up with is the medial and lateral sesamoids. However, I cannot find a source that depicts which is lateral and which is medial. That's what I ...
  2. A&P experts please help...

Trust me. I want to believe you. I want the medial aspect of the great toe to be the side of the great toe that is facing the same way as the medial aspect of the foot. However, I need some kind of source to back this up. I need a credible argument o...
  3. A&P experts please help...

Great post....extremely helpful. I must search for more of your posts to indulge myself in this superior knowledge you seem to express with your attitude in this post.
  4. A&P experts please help...

Sure, I do understand that. I know what you say above would would be true for the medial aspect of the foot, but I'm not sure if this is different or not for the toes of the foot. For example, if you consider the foot as one foot, the lateral great ...

  7. Working with a cast?

I'm a home health nurse. BTW. For hands I can use alcohol effectively between pts. Just for wound care pts I am gonna have to wear XL gloves with the pinky and 4th digit cut out maybe cover up with kerlix? I dunno.
  8. I think I just messed up please help

No, I did. I work homehealth, and I just threw out a pt's half empty bottle of TAS coz the date was expired. I just had a sudden thought at home this am that maybe the date said 2009 But I don't think any TAS is good for a whole year, so it must hav...

Anyone else lift weights? What kinda routine do you do? I work 3 12's/week and they the days I work rotate each week. I'd really like to be on a push/pull/legs, but coz of the inconsistancy with my work schedule, it wouldn't work So....I came up wit...
  14. I've been studying for my nurse degree since back in 2004. We've (my family and I) had many things to deal with including two giant moves, one of which was to another state, thanks to a hurricane called Katrina. Anyway, I finally graduted as an LVN ...
  15. Is that true? I am seriously considering it, but I want to be able to travel from state to state without any hassle and I heard excelsior is not an accredited program. Any help? thanks
  16. Thanks for the replies! So if a nurse graduates from EC in a state that recognizes it, works for 1-2 years, is she then able to transfer her license or apply for a license in other states? or will the fact that the degree came EC always cause problem...
  17. I actually started a thread a long time ago in here asking about the differences between UK nursing and US nursing. I actually got scolded because I relayed what I had been told by others. I was accused of being disrespectful to UK nurses, so I wont ...
  18. How to cope with lack of Vacation time in the USA

no, it sucks. people (here in the us) are always amazed when i tell them that in the uk you get 4 weeks paid vacation/year standard with any job and paid holidays (bank holidays etc). i'm definitely considering a move back, even if just for a little...

  20. I'm thinking of Joining the Navy as a Nurse... ?

Are there any opportunities for ADNs in the Navy or do they require you have your BSN? Also, is there an age limit?
  21. Hey, I graduated as an LVN in August. I worked a surgical floor for 3 weeks. I moved towns, and just started working at a healthsouth rehab. Orientation is 3 days, more if you need it. They are seriously pushing me to be off orientation. I just did m...
  22. Scared and don't know what to do

It's a rehab hospital, and the patients can be pretty demanding care-wise. For example, they give blood and other IVF's there. Patients have all kinds of wounds and dressings changes, and you are expected to chart for each patient through out the shi...
  23. Health South Rehab Hospital?

Yeah, thanks. I bumped into my nurse manager today (had to hand in some papers) and asked her about it. She told me that you don't need to chart every 2 hours. She did say that at night she expects the pts to be checked on q hr. She expects the nurse...
  24. Health South Rehab Hospital?

I just started at a HS as an LVN. I'd really like to get some experience med/surg, but the decent hospitals round here only hire RNs. I plan on doing that once I get my RN. For now HS seems like a good fit. My question to anyone working at HS or reh...
  25. I feel useless

I'm a new grad LVN just started on a surgical floor. The average pt/nurse ratio is 6:1. I just completed my 7th day with my preceptor, and I'm only at 3 pts, and I still have a hard time! It just seems like for every single little thing that stops me...
