I have to admit that my interviewing skills definitely need some brushing up on. This I cannot Deny. But how many resumes do you need to send out everyday day for hours just to hear back nothing it is so frustrating I swear that I came to the point of taking a psw jobs like many of my graduated friends.

I can't find a job I have applied all over for the last 5 months and NOTHING this is one of the most disheartening things I ever witnessed I hate this please give me any advice or what I can do. I have applied to places outside of Toronto and still nothing!!! Please thank all you I don't know! 😥😥

I've been actually struggling to find me a RPN job in Toronto For a while now. I had a home health job but I missed one day by calling in sick and the people never called me back for any more training. I recently got another job where it was home health and I went to training and they just told me I didnt have enough knowledge... I feel that I cant really find any work out there and keep messing up these interviews. I dont want to work for agencies because of how uncertain they can truly be. I just feel really stupid right now...

This is really really really ******* me up on the inside, because im having A lot of family issues at the moment, and right now I feel like im stuck, I just missed 2 days of clinical (THE ENTIRE WEEK!) and its only week 4, I feel like im screwed as of now. I am feeling horrible.

Hey, guys so I am in my thrid semester for my RPN program at Centennial which I am taking again. The first time I took this was in the summer, and most of you will find this silly, but the reason I had stop showing up to clinical and decided to purposely fail was because my teacher wouldn't stop picking on me and calling me in the corner every 5 minutes or when she would see me. Which made me hate being there and I couldn't take it anymore. Even though this was a issue. I would never fail any the math test which I had 2 of and all of the return demos. Now however, when I am taking this semester in the fall after failing it, I had a simple math test in week 2 (currently week 4) which I totally failed. And then right after in week 3 had a return demonstration which was a total disaster, which keep in mind was totally fine, when I was in my previous semester. At this time, If I fail again I will be withdrawn from my program, and if I simply drop it, you are only allowed 1 semester to drop and then you will be force into it again back in January, which then its really the last time. I am just very nervous because so far the semester is going horrible and I'm just nervous.

Of course a degree program is more challenging, it's not suppose to be any easier. However, more times than I can count whenever I talk to a student in my program, who has plans to go bridge to be a RN, I normally find that it is what they wanted to do from the start, and also that they find this as leeway into the nursing profession. Also about Langara... that was a message for the target audience, probably highschool students looking into options of what to do. Personally I have no intentions of entering a 4 year program and have stated my program of interest in terms of bridging, which is UoiT, Nisssiping, and Athabaska, again 3 very different programs with very specific requirements that synchronize with the current student record, having seen that I failed a course. Which is again why I tell students (Especially Highschool students) not to take the RPN program to "have a feel" for this profession, instead go volunteer at a hospital and see how the profession is before pursuing it.

A little insight here, keep in mind if you do consider going to Humber college since they only accept people into their university program, that you would need to finish with a 74% minimum to be accepted into their bridging program. Also I think Athabaska University dosen't have a GPA requirement, and you only need the 1700 hours. For Nisissiping University they cover you if you are willing to work at a given site for 5 years, and they put you on a timer for 7 years to complete the program. Most schools, require you to have a 3.0 gpa minimum to even get in. I will end on this note, if you want to become a RN, and you are told by someone, hey! you should do the RPN first because you will get experience and then worry later about bridging! Its no easy process and very impractical. It will waste a lot of time and money. So just attend a 4 year RN program and save yourself the hassel. I know students who got 74 percent in highschool and got into RN programs! From school like Langara and whatnot! If you want to be a RN, dont go for the RPN!

You are right, i've been trying for months on end now to see if there is a loop anywhere, not really, you just gotta finish the program strong, I was thinking about taking a semester before preceptorship to retake all my gned classes to see if I can improve my gpa. I'll keep what your said in mind about the CPNRE and focusing more on that. Thank you good luck!

I took it again and passed it with a c plus, but for Centennial they said that they dont accept people into the bridging who failed a course

In my program they dont allow us to retake courses which we already passed even to upgrade our gpa

In december from centennial but they said I cant join there rpn program cause i needed a 3.0 with no failed courses

Hey, sorry I am not able to answer your question. But I have a question for you about bridging! I am a student who has will be graduating in December and will end with a 3.0 gpa, unfortunately with a fail class. Is there any ways I can bridge to one of these schools?

Hey, guys, now I wont lie, Centennial College is a good place to learn, and I would be lying if I said that I was disappointed that I cannot continue my studies there due to failing a class. But do you guys know anyone who has failed that can go to become RN's. Thanks

I got a question for you, i have failed a class in centennial and they told me I cant get in. Ive been hearing rumours that there are some who get in with this, did you hear about this, or any places they went for school to bridge. Also do you know what a guy in my situation can do, who will most likey graduate with a 3.0 gpa total can get into. Thanks!

Hello, guy I have posted on this forum about this before, and now at a crossroad. The situation right now is that my Gpa is at 2.93 and I have 2 more classes to go before my final semester of pre-grad clinical. I have found that if I take a extra semester before pre-grad, I can upgrade my gpa to exactly 3.0. Now the thing is I have failed a course (at Centennial), and have been looking in what program is good for me. I just wanted a perspective on what other programs offer face to face experience in terms of bridging with what I have. I am willing to travel to a different region of Canada in order to get the face to face experience, I am just wanting to have the opportunity to take part in a bridging program. The only 2 options I have found is Nissipiping and Athabaska University, which are both online, with Nisspisping offering blended delivery. I have looked into UoiT and found that there program is offering acceptance at 82% as cut off; however when I called them I found that there acceptance this year was 86% and even If I take the upgrading classes to boost up 12% it will be a giant waste of time, since I will have exactly 82% from the maximum upgrading... I am just despirate for options at this time. Is it possible to go to Vancouver or elsewhere to do my bridging or any option at all. Thanks

Which school do you go to? Depending on the facility if you are about to fail the class you can actually drop it and take it next semester for your health, which facility are you in?

Thanks to all that replied, I was considering what you have said, now that I think about it, there is a lot of options available, to help bridge to university afterward, I guess at the moment my clinical are rather basic, but when I start working more and more I will be applying more pathology into my care. I will work hard until the end of my program, and then at the end whatever my GPA is, I will consider then if it would be practical to upgrade, or start going into the workforce as a rpn, and then making a more well rounded choice after to see if it is right for me. This idea of going to university after is just bothering me cause people in my class now are all talking about it and I feel that if I take another route to start working afterward that I will not achieve the same goal in the end.

thats true But I would still like to go to university and finish as soon as i can, i was thinking that if i do the upgrading with u oi t then i would be able to upgrade to about 12 percent, however with my mark as low as it is when i graduate it will be impossible to bring it up to their and even then i could still be in trouble if i do take the courses and i still dont get in. What do you think about working after school as a rpn, i was thinking about it, however, what what i am afraid of is starting to work as one and then later down the line, not feeling like going back to school, due to my loss of nursing knowledge which i am afraid of. Any advice or do you know any info on the programs, thanks!

I am currently in the RPN going to semester 3 and my GPA is a 2.9 with a failed course in Patho at Centennial College. I have been noticing people have been telling me that although I cant get into the RN program though Ryerson, right now. If I work for a year and come back as a mature student that they would accept me. I don't know how true this is. Whenever I ask someone about it, they usually they to ******** me on information and say that they don't know and all this nonsense. They seem as if they are trying to hide information on how to bridge to university if you have failed a course, like me. However, I been looking into my options for different school in the general Toronto Area and non of them are look very favourable. I heard that there are some people telling me to go to humber for bridging even though I need to be a humber student to even apply there and then there are people telling me to go to U o it to help upgrades my overall courses to then go their. However moving my GPA from a 2.9 to a 3.7 is wishful thinking. Also that will definately take me more than a year to achieve that. Also some people have told me that working first then applying after a year to another university like athabaska or elsewhere would be a option as well. I also know that nissiping offers the 5 year blended delivery online, which you have to be working at one of their affilated hospitals to get into. Any thoughts or advice thanks.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I was wondering about that too since I too am quite hesitant on starting a program far from home (Toronto), and was wondering a couple things. Does the commute to school look to be too much for you, since I personally live in Toronto. Also, would you have to be working at a facility under one of the hospital when applying to the program and even when in the program to be working in the facility. Thanks

I was reading that you can start cluster A, before graduating to get some courses out of the way. Have you considered upgrading courses at U o It, or nissisiping 5 year

Hey, yeah I am for sure, since I wish to do the RN program, but i'm just trying to figure out which options would be available, since im trying to figure out which one to take as soon as i graduate to have continuing education. Which one would you recommend
