I have finally got approved for SSDI since 2018 I have had 2 rotator cuff surgeries on same shoulder. ACDF of C4-C7, permanent nerve damage because of spinal stenosis, meniscus repair, partial knee replacement that got infected, had a washout hospitalized 10 days, PICC line with IV antibiotics, large synovial cyst on l4-l5 had a laminectomy and fusion and was told not to lift more then 20 lbs forthe rest of my life. Neurotransmitter in c7 with 4 leads. That actually has helped with nerve damage... I also have RA I have been treated with IV DMARD for many years... oh I am only 54. So I got disability with first try . I did use a lawyer. So now my question, other then the obvious...care for myself, what's next? I mean I have always worked alot. I drove over an hour to work or more. Now what do I do? I am planning on keeping my license, because I have earned it. I just will never work again. And I don't want too. My husband makes good money. I only applied to disability in case something happens to him. Now how what do I do to keep my mind occupied. What have you done, retired or disabled.

I had an interview 2 weeks ago. It appeared to go well. The manager said she would send my information to HR. HR asked for 5 references 2 must be from supervisors. I got 4 references and 1 from a supervisor. I absolutely have no one else to ask. I sent HR an email ( there is no phone number) The email link for references stated to notify HR if I had any problems or questions with references. It was been 3 days. No response. I emailed manager, no response. The job I interviewed for still has my interview scheduled, it hasn't been updated that I am no longer considered for position. I am just frustrated that I feel like I have been ghosted. It's okay if they don't want me. I am not offended. I get it. But why ghost someone? That isn't right. Now I am to the point if they do offer me the position I might turn it down out of spite. Luckily I don't financially need to work. My husband has a good job. Thanks for letting me vent.

carbon copies for orders

Hi, I haven't worked bedside for a few years. I have had a lot of experience in pediatrics and floated many times in NICU. I mainly cared for feeders and growers. Since it has been a while, does anyone have a list of common meds with dosages for the NICU. It is a level 2+ NICU. We do use vents but the maximum we leave them of vent is 3 days, then they are transferred out. Any help or suggestions will be helpful. I probably won't start job until March. I have an offer. I just want to be up to speed before I start. Thank You

Honestly, I pretty much ignore what ever is said. I was surprised when I heard a 3 year old call me a Puta (SP maybe wrong.)Once I found out what that was I told the parents they were bad parents for teaching their child that and laughing at it.

Thank you, I been a nurse for 22 years. Passed the NCLEX first time with 75 Q. We did go thru the ranks and we were pretty much told to suck it up. Refused to listen or look at proof. That is why they refused to let us record the class retake.

I had to retake OB because the professors were worthless. Out of 80 students, 66 failed. They failed because their notes/lectures in class were different from the book, and never agreed with each other. We did not know how to answer the tests, since there are always 2 right answers in the choices. It was so bad, that when we took the class over again in the Spring semester, they refused to let us have recording device in the class for lectures to prove it. Something never denied in any other class. We would show them in our notes. Everyone had the same thing, they stilled denied. This is why I don't trust nursing professors and I am fighting tooth and nail not to get my BSN. I will never again support a system that purposely fails people so they can have a power trip. This school was Indiana State University.

As a nurse, once I can get it I will get it. As a Christian, most people I talk with that are reluctant to get it just plain don't trust the government, or any agency connected to it. I honestly can't blame them. I do try to talk logically with them. Their fear of the government is stronger then the fear of catching the disease and even dying.

Not a master of all, I know enough to be dangerous ??? yes, I did HD but left after a few weeks on orientation when I found out the company expected you to work 12 hrs, be on call 12 hrs afterwards once a week.... the on call almost guarantee at least half of the 12 hrs if not all. I refuse to work 24hrs and then drive home. Yes, I did work ICU too left that. I had to major surgeries so I can’t do floor nursing anymore

Consider ENPC and NRP (just in case you get a pesky preemie or newborn that just cant wait to go to OB). It's not that you are cutting yourself short. Sometimes you just got to do what works best for your family. Never feel guilty about that.

So here are a few options ask for a day or two of orientation of tele patients. Also I suggest you get ACLS. Just because you are M/S doesn't mean that is necessary. It can make you more comfortable in dealing with emergent rhythms.

Seriously, I just wanted to make money. Ended up working in many sought after specialties.... From Peds stem cell transplant/cvs to Peds ER at a level 1 trauma center to adult ER, PICU and many other various areas. 21 years into nursing, just was told by my ortho doc that I should not do floor nursing again, to work in an office. I knew it was coming. I just finally heard it outloud is surreal.
