Excellent example of a cover letter, MurseCumberbatch2b! I agree! The cover letter should address how the hospital's mission and values align with your own, and how your previous experience demonstrates your capacity to contribute to them. And as a n...

mermaid_rn, Thank you! That was really helpful! I just started studying for the NCLEX, so I'm doubly nervous. You make a great point on JHH being a teaching hospital- its one of the reasons that I want to work there!

  7. Interview at Johns Hopkins Hospital for New Nurse Position

  8. International RN to CNa

You're welcome! Becoming a CNA would be a great way to get your foot in the door of a hospital. It will give you an opportunity to prove yourself, and make connections. You will likely be hired after you pass the NCLEX.

  14. Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

I submitted the supporting documents on August 6. Lisa signed my contract yesterday. I'm crossing my fingers that this is a good sign! I'm afraid that the phone representatives might not have too much insight on this, since its really a coin toss wh...

I agree with mocapoca. Although I'm confident that finalists will receive the scholarship, funds will not be disbursed until November. Once you recieve final confirmation of the scholarship, you can send it to your financial aid office to defer payme...
  16. Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

NMW1982, there have been several scholarship recipients who are NP students. The first three who posted about their scholarship notification were NP students, and matchanurse who just received her notification yesterday is an NP student.
  17. Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

I'll be at Holy Family University in Pennsylvania. I heard from the admissions counselor that another student also received the scholarship.... and I'm wondering who it is.
  18. Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

Tellio, as I mentioned in an earlier post, last year, HRSA sent notifications every year. Psychnp, HRSA finished scoring on July 15, and, since they only check finalist's credit reports, did not check credit before then. The credit check appeared as...
  19. Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

There is still time to receive a notification! Remember that HRSA finished scoring less than a month ago. It looks like this year's waves of notifications mimic last year's. Last year, credit reports were checked on the last week of July, and applica...

I agree with MissTSM42. RN and NP students may be in the same tier, but up to half of the funds are reserved for NP students. I think that it makes sense that they are notified first.
