Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016
^I completely agree. What are the shift differentials? I didn't know they had any.

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016
I received an offer for the surgical track (not what I interviewed for). I'm going to decline the offer and stay on the waitlist for CVICU. Pay for the surgical track was only 21.85... yikes

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016
I interviewed for CVICU on Wednesday and received the email today. She said I'd receive a decision by the first week in December so I'm jealous you'll hear sooner!

Goodluck everyone with your interviews! Did anyone else's heart drop when they saw the email from Ms. Fargo but it ended up being about the final decision deadline? Phew.

Houston Methodist Spring 2015 Residency Program
Has anyone figured out how to apply? I see 2 listings for Sugarland, but I'm not even sure if they're for the Winter 2016 cohort.

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016
I applied for the CVICU! I'm assuming they wanted us to choose specific critical care areas due to the volume of applicants that apply to the critical care track? I'm really excited!

Best Tech Floor for ICU GN Residency
Hey y'all! I have the opportunity to choose between 3 different units (WOW, I'm still excited!) to work as a nurse tech. My main goal is to get into an ICU residency program after I graduate (different hospital than the tech options), so I need some help in deciding on which unit. My options are med/tele, medicine, and the OR. I was quite surprised to hear back from the OR because I went into the interview for a cardiology position. Would any unit be better than the other in regards to my chances of getting an ICU residency position? I'm leaning towards the OR because I loved that clinical rotation, but I'm not sure if that counts for the real floor experience that the other units might offer. I told HR I'd give them an answer on Monday... HELP!

OLOL RN Prog
This is late in the game, but it may help someone applying in the future. I'll (hopefully) graduate in Dec 2015. I transferred from directly from LSU pretty much as soon as I could... plus an extra football season:). I wasn't interested in LSUHSC since it was in NOLA and I love BR and the friends I'd made here- GEAUX TIGERS! What was your GPA and HEISI test score? My GPA was around a 3.6... We didn't have to take HESI to get in. We took a test called the TEAS exam. Since it's a new program, they're making changes each semester. Do you have to be done with Chemistry before applying Or can you apply to OLOLNursing Program, while taking Chemistry? Program Admission Requirements - ololcollege-edu.org ^^This website says you have to be done with chemistry before applying. Know of anyone with a 3.4 or lower who got in? I do know of a few people who got in with lower GPAs. They typically had degrees already in other areas (Geography, Communication Disorders..). From what I understand, OLOL has made big changes in the application process since I've applied. We didn't have interviews (but I'm glad they added them). I was a bit shocked when I started due to the different types of students in the classroom, but I'm seeing more younger, college-aged students on campus.

Cook Children's Pediatric Nurse Residency program - July 2015 Cohort
Can anyone who was accepted give a brief summary of your credentials? That sounds so serious:sarcastic:... but GPA, work experience, practicum/preceptorship location, volunteering, clubs, etc?

Cook Children's GN Residency Feb 2015 Cohort
Hey! Would you mind saying what your GPA was? Did you tech anywhere (and where)? Which unit are you on, and how are you liking it?

GN Residency/Job Apps... Grading Scale Discrepancy
And unfortunately, I go to a very small school with next to nothing as far as the extracurriculars go.

GN Residency/Job Apps... Grading Scale Discrepancy
I guess I'm mainly directing my concern to a nurse residency program. I definitely don't have the issue of settling for C's. I'm more of an A/B+ student (I'm trying to get into graduate school.)

GN Residency/Job Apps... Grading Scale Discrepancy
My nursing school says it has a 7 pt grading scale but it goes as follows: 94-100 A 91-93 B+ 87-90 B 84-86 C+ 80-83 C 79 and below is failing On applications to jobs/residency programs, I want to put "6 pt grading scale" next to it. Would that be too bold? I keep seeing other schools with 7 pt grading scales but they have A's ranging into a 93 and subtracting 7 from there. Feel free to post your school's grading scale. I'm interested in comparisons.
