I love OR, calming my patient's fears, getting them properly positioned, foley inserted, prepped and draped. I love being a part of helping to save a trauma patient, what a rewarding feeling!

You cannot be a doormat unless you lie down. Perhaps you should stop agreeing to work overtime all the time. Don't apologize, just say that you can't stay late today.

Hang in there, as others have stated it does take time to be comfortable in the OR (actually most new areas/jobs). Actually many ORs find the Nov. & Dec. Extremely busy times so you actually jumped in at the wildest time of the year - no wonder y...

I have been in the OR for 28 years, and I have only seen this done once as the patient requested it due to her back problems. I would not be comfortable with this practice at all, and would consult with AORN regarding this practice. I would have a d...

Document this - bullying, and public humiliation is not acceptable. Disruptive behavior should not be tolerated, and is a patient safety issue. A hospital that tolerates this physician behavior is in fact promoting this as acceptable! Write her up, t...
