Hello all I am will be starting a graduate program (hopefully) at the beginning of next year. I am currently re-taking statistics as my course was over 10 years ago. I keep going back and forth about FNP and CNM. I feel more interested in becoming...
Is anyone an alumni from Kaplan of your FNP? I'm not finding many people in the students section and I would love to ask you a few questions if so. I am thinking of applying but just want to choose a good program. Thank you in advance!

Thank for all the responses :-) Yes being on my own right out of graduate school would make me nervous... the few midwives I've spoken with said that you would transfer a lot of patients in the beginning just because you aren't as comfortable... ev...
Hello everyone I am looking for input for someone who has been there or has any experience or advice to offer. I am wanting to return to graduate school to become a NP. I have been a RN for almost 9 years... I have always worked in some cardiology s...

That is how it is when I work triage/rounding with our cardiology group in patient... usually out late and very busy. The CV surgery used to have their own nurses too but a few years ago they changed and now only NP round for them.

I am wondering if I need to give up on the thought of getting to work locally.... our local hospital is critical access so it is small. I don't see much need for even a rounding nurse or a nurse practitioner to assist the hospital. I guess that cou...

Yes I've found a few schools that offer dual degrees but they aren't online and we don't live anywhere near them.... moving right now isn't really a good option for us so sadly those are out :-( I would be all over it otherwise!!!
Hello all I am currently a nurse in the ER... I also work PRN as a rounding and triage nurse for the Cardiologist group in a large metropolitan hospital. I have two very different interests... I like critical care/cardiology and I also am very inte...

Hello all, I'm not really sure where to post this.. it would fit into a couple topics but I don't see an area for Lactation, Birth educators etc even though many are nurses I guess you don't have to be. Anyway.. I live in a rural area - it is about a...

Our local hospital does provide a class but it is the normal hospital class. I would focus on a natural birthing class such as a bradley method, hypo babies etc... I wouldn't take that specific class but I would make it one of the 10-12 week natural...

What University did you attend? I must clarify I meant no travel as in the programs that require you to do part of your work on the campus and part online.. I understand all program will have you visit twice usually for skills but I have found some p...
Hello everyone I work in a very small rural hospital as the lone educator for the entire hospital. I've been here about 4 months... Our diabetic educator recently retired and they have decided to not hire a new diabetic educator. Instead I am to make...

Does anyone know of any nurse educators that work from home? I am the clinical education coordinator at a small rural hospital. We just had our first baby and I am considering leaving my position to go PRN and return to the large metro hospital and...
Hello everyone I am not sure if it is best to post this here or in the specialty of nurse staff development (this normally doesn't fall under education responsibilities in some of the bigger hospitals so I didn't know if it really fit in that group)....
