I would imagine that the number of interviews is not far off of the number of applications. There probably aren't that many people who turn in an application without making sure it's complete....but that's just a guess. I could be totally wrong.

By the way, I asked Kim after my interview how many applications there were and how many spots available. She said 136 applications for 64 spots.

I'm sure that's why. As long as your application packet was complete, I think you are guaranteed an interview. Did you say you are out of state? They may be calling in state students first, so that could be part of the reason, too.

And yes, the waiting is the worst part of the whole process! Haha. I just need to take a deep breath and deal with it or I'm gonna give myself a nervous break down. Patience isn't my forte... Haha.
