Did you do anything to prepare for it, like purchasing the book that is recommended? AHHH! Registration week starting August 11th! :) To be completely honest, I didn't think it would go from 8:00-3:00.

Hey! You were so right... Everything worked out! I was stressing over nothing I'm currently just running around and getting things together. I'm doing the BLS for healthcare providers in two weeks. I recall you stating in previous posts that you already did it (correct me if I'm wrong). How did it go? Just to make sure, you reserved your class through heart.org, correct?

Did you get this done through health services or through your private doctor? I really hope so smylee! I'm kind of freaking out.. I don't want a shot to be the thing that holds me back from beginning. Ugh, why does medical insurance have to get so technical? LOL. I am definitely calling tomorrow though. Mines takes about 45 minutes, which I am totally okay with... gives me time to study.

I thought we were supposed to have the second one done... Ugh, I am definitely feeling stressed out now! I called ------------ to ask during my break but was told that she stepped out of the office. By the time I got out, the office was closed. I'm going to call first thing in the morning tomorrow. I've been under the impression that it was the second vaccine... Anyone else out there know? I'm going to look into the website! Thanks for letting me know :) Like you, I will also be taking public transportation. I'm only one or two buses away depending on which route I take. I wouldn't mind driving but it's too many streets that I have to take! How long would it take for you to get there on the bus/train?

Questions to you all: -What happens if you don't get the second vaccine of the Hepatitis B series done by the time we start school? I am currently working on getting it done but my doctor has been booked and was only able to make an appointment until late this week. I recall that -------------- said that we will not be able to participate in the program for this semester if we don't get the second Hep. B vaccine by the time school starts, correct? - In case all else fails at my doctor's office and am unable to get my titers results quick enough, how do we go about getting all our titers/vaccines through health services? - I remember ------------------- said that she suggests we don't get a fancy stethoscope so what kind did you all get?

Hey smylee! I already got my livescan done and am working on getting my titers/vaccines done (hopefully by this week). As far as books, shoes, and stethoscope go, I have held off on purchasing anything until I finish getting the health clearance form. Have you purchased your malpractice insurance?

Hello all! I definitely made up my mind and will be attending County with you all this Fall! I'm so so so excited! I have some catching up to do since I wasn't sure where I was going to attend (didn't want to waste money in vain). Now that I know where I'm going, I'm getting everything together. I have my live scan appointment this week! Have any of you already done it?

After much deliberation, I ultimately forfeited my seat earlier today. I went to the bank and was ready to sign all the loan paperwork but then I saw what I would owe after I graduate... LOL. If I were receiving a lot of financial aid, I would definitely go but since I don't, I would have to cover the rest with a private lender.... I don't feel comfortable owing that much after. Steph, please let me know if you've been accepted! :) I really hope you all hear good news tomorrow since today was the deadline for all of us originally accepted. I will be attending another school... for those who are not accepted this round, apply next year! See how you can make your application better; perhaps volunteering or attending CSUB.

I suggest she call and ask if she can hand deliver. Perhaps I heard wrong but when I went to the information session, someone asked if they can drop it off and they said no.

Hey everyone! I've been somewhat MIA on this thread because I wasn't sure what school I was going to attend. I've been accepted into some BSN programs but I think I'm going to attend County with you all due... as righteousjenn mentioned, BSN programs are expensive $$$. LOL I've held off on doing some of the requirements cause I wasn't sure of what I was going to do but I'm 90% sure that I will be going to County so I have gotten started. I just wanted to ask if you all knew whether the health clearance form is suppose to be completed before we go in for the live scan? I believe it isn't supposed to be done but I just wanted to make sure! :)

I got home super late last night and found an acceptance e-mail in my inbox! Congratulations to those who have been accepted and to those who haven't, don't lose hope! I'm sure that not everyone who has been accepted will accept their seat... At this point, I think I'm going to attend a school here in Los Angeles instead. Although private loans are an option, I don't know if it makes financial sense to my situation. I still have till the 8th to decide and will give it long thought. :) Again congratulations!

Eek, isn't tuition approximately $30,000 a year at MSMC... When I was thinking of applying for the Bachelor's program, I saw that price and decided not to apply. It's expensive but I've been told by current students that they felt that the education and clinical sites they obtained was well worth the money. I've tried financial aid but I'm not getting much... not even enough to cover tuition for the whole year, meaning that I would still have to pay part of my tuition, books/supplies, living expenses, etc. I've looked into private loans and pre-qualified but I'm not sure if I want to go down that road. Like you, I don't want to be in debt for a long time LOL. Since you said you've been looking at apartments to get an idea, have you decided if you're going to rent on your own or find a roommate? Your welcome & thank you! Like I mentioned in another thread, I think this is the only place to vent... We can talk about it with our family and friends but no one quite understands exactly what we're going through in this waiting process expect all the people on this thread and those still waiting to hear back from CSUB!

Thank you for the information. I guess not having a lot to do is not a big deal since studying probably takes up most of everyone's time! I hope that we all hear back tomorrow so that we can get some peace and so that those planning to attend can begin making decisions when it comes to living arrangements, work, and such!

Awww, it's nice that you at least know someone out there, even if it's just your bf's grandpa! Yes, I believe that is how it works. They send out acceptence emails to the first 55-60 students and they have until a certain date that they have to reply stating that they want to attend CSUB's program. If they do not reply within the certain deadline, then their seat goes to the next candidate. If I remember correctly, they will keep going down the list until all seats have been filled, hence, why those on the waitlist might hear until late August (like the application states).... If I'm wrong, someone please feel to correct me! LOL I don't know if I'll get in and if I do, I'm not sure if I'm going to attend anymore due to $$$. All I can say is don't lose hope! The nice thing about hearing till July is that many people will probably say no to CSUB because they have already been accepted to other nursing programs and have probably already started paying for things that their certain program requires. At least know that if you don't get into CSUB, you still have Mount St. Mary's! :)
