Most of our post op ortho pts come back with either ambien or restoril ordered prn. As a standing rule we don't usually give them to anyone over the age over 60 for the very reasons you mention. I don't know how many times they have gotten confused...

Our hospital is also kind of the same as everyone has been describing. We get six call offs in a six month period any more and you go into a disciplanary action that means you can lose your bonus as well as your raise.

I just use a dark sheet over the window now, but used to use aluminum foil and it worked great was pitch black in my room except my glow in the dark stars (man I miss those!). :imbar
