Hi p.stacyt I was accepted mid interview for APW but was told if I want FACT there was a waiting list but within the next day accepted into the Fact program. I guess my essay explained my feelings about wanting to be a nurse and my personality. I kind of really gave a detailed but concise essay so i answered majority of his questions with that. But just a heads up! If you have an interview it is most likely you get in.....Good Luck and I am sure you will be at Jeff in the Fall. Focus on rocking the GRE's.

Hi laurrose4 The interview went amazing I really didn't want to leave. So, the interview are basic questions to gage your personality. I truly believe you should speak from the heart know about yourself and focus on your reasoning why you want to be a nurse. why jefferson specifically, in comparison to other schools? What's something you can take from your undergrad degree that can help towards nursing? philly is a very diverse city, are you comfortable with that? What's your view on being in the city? What are your hobbies? what is one thing unique about yourself? what do you think will be a challenge for you in school? the interviewer really wants to get to know what you're like besides your grades and schoolwork. So I'd just recommend preparing yourself for those questions and being honest with them is key! Have fun and really engage with the interviewer.

Hi Mrshungie I actually applied to the FACT program extremely late. As in January 14. The initial process that took long was actually going through Nursing Cas. It was long and frustrating with a hint of anxiety because you don't know what your overall average may be like at the end. My advice about applying: Apply early as possible that would help you extremely. To stand out: I think being myself and actually letting my natural interest in medical field do the talking for me. The interviewer said my essay explained why nursing so I am not sure if it was a killer essay or the fact I called and developed a rapport with the interview in advance that helped me stand out but GRADES are huge factor but not the only factor. They want character and dedication. It could have been that my whole career life was spent in medical field that showed my dedication. So to be honest standing out or to stand out is stress your qualities that best relate to nursing. Hope this helps!

I am not from your area but like you I was afraid of not getting into school but the most correct answer of advice I can give you is apply to all and then worry about the finances later. Money is Money and yes debt is stressful and some people prefer it not but if you really want a career you have to take chances. Just make sure the school apply to are actually really accredited. Its nice to get people opinion but everyone life is different. Apply to all schools if you get accepted to one or all that is your answer. Hope that helps and that you are not allowing others to influence your choices because now your goal is to make money for you and your child so if having to work your butt off for the next 2 years after you become a LVN,RN, BSN RN. Hey PaFW I have decided to go APW instead of FACT. I know very well its longer but after looking at 5-7 weeks of classes and thinking to myself about the struggle of constant non stop work it didn't work out for me. Plus, I know it sounds weird but I thought classes were a tad bit longer but after speaking with a guy who attended that APW. I was told they all do the same thing -- Take a packet of exams all at once! Then quizzes every week just seemed too overwhelming for me even during a 12 week course but a 5-7 week course is even more scary. puu! But go onto FB and put in FACT 2014 you should find the class

Hi Everyone! I am new to starting a thread so I am not sure if i am in the right area but I was accepted into the FACT program and looking to change into APW. Is there anyone who is accepted into the APW and did 1 year or going into the APW Fall 2014. Please let me know your experiences and/or why did you choose the program over FACT. My Reasons 1. Need to have breaks 2. Really feel there is no rush to doing this program really fast truthfully. As a RN you will be okay. 3. Im actually interested in other things besides just going to school. i.e. -- organizations

I am awaiting my confirmation of acceptance or being denied. Ugh, I applied in Jan and still awaiting my results. :-(

Hey Suivezmoi89! Im looking into the APW program now. I was just accepted to the FACT on Friday but felt like I need time to decide. After speaking with a Former APW person I realized that one) I enjoy my freedom and life . 2) I wanted to build more connects before leaving and 3) why am I rushing for something that I will be doing my whole life plus more. After doing job research I see it is a disadvantage to do an accelerated program because 1) no exp equals less job offers 2) yes being in a BSN to MSN program is good but Rushing to be an NP without exp caps your $$$. BSN are not salary vs NPs who are salaried... so I hope this helps and hopefully you will be a) my classmate or b) happy Nursing student at TCU. Good luck! :-) PS: We should start our own thread! Hopefully you get in.... it would be nice to actually find other APW students and find out why and how they are handling their admission. I have yet to make it in stone but I THINK I want to do APW officially...

What time was your interview? Do you think your acceptance time was congruent with your interview time? When he called what did he say? Im stoked to know. Sorry! Did you receive an e-mail following it? What are some of the things you need pre acceptance? Im getting so nervous right now...

Hey Pafw! Definitely call and find out about your interview. Would they call you or you have to call them? Mine was quite strange I got my supplemental right away then I was stalled because it said I needed a GRE. I didn't end up needing my GRE because my undergrad overall was 3.8 and that was rectified which lead to me getting an email about my dates available for an interview. I just put me being available all day every day then I got a time and date. I guess i didnt have an option after all phone or one on one interview. But its maybe for the best you know? being as though we applied late and maybe your availability did not match the time frame to accept the class of 2015. This may be a good sign! They wanted to interview you sooner rather than later! what times did you throw out for your availability on phone interview?

I am so freaking confused on this waiting list situation... like it's scary going into an interview already knowing you are wait listed even if you get accepted.
